Raised in Scarborough till age 16. now in KC, USA. Enjoyed this video. Brought back memories of my playground as a kid. You don't appreciate it until you don't have it anymore. Thanks for the memories.
@Gazmatson left scarborough when i was 13 now living in berkshire, but i do miss the place.i lived in seamer moor road, wich has now gone but iwould love to move back but grand kids so the wife says no.
i'm not too sure, the kids have scrambled my brain! but i went to friarage for a few years then finished off at northstead, but am leaning towards friarage??
famous for the world record tuna back in the eraly 1930s,my relative Peter jaconelli held the record for eating the most oysters!,my mam met my dad there, she was a waitress my dad owned swingy boats and valentes ice cream ,he also played football for scarbrogh, recently just lost my cousin george valente....sat here in floods of tears
@skunkhead2006 so sad to hear about george ,we had some good laughs just wish it was linda who was gone not george she never deserved to be blessed with a character like him,rip
The new hotel on the seafront near the swimmng pool is an eye-sore, how did they get planning permission to build such a hidious building in the first place, whats more, it looks like it should be in spain, not scarborough!
I always thought Marine Drive was one an awesome engineering feat. Probably sounded like a crazy idea at the time, now taken for granted. Victorian madmen rule ok.
We have great memories of Scarborough with the kids.........first on the beach in the morning........looking around the shops in the daytime........taking them to the fair at night and watching their thrilled little faces going around on the big wheel and then walking back (little ones exhausted) when it went dark............WE LOVE YOU SCARBOROUGH!!
i live in scarborough and its shit it realy is but its great in summer and school holidays but went winter comes its all wet and there not much you can do
and random fact did you know scarborough was the very 1st sea side town to become a hoilday away (ya no with arcards, sea side games, sports, that fair and bla bla bla) it looks a lil different now its 2010
this video is really good well done !! i am going on my hoilday this year to scarbrough in june for like the 8th time now its that good i was bassicaly brought up here only for a week a yr but it is the best faimly place you can go on
We visit Scarborough every now and then we have took a liking to it, wonder if Danny Wilde is still playing at the Nelson that guy has some ego, lol. Great video :-)
Haven't been to Scarb for years.... started going there in the 1960s as a child. Spent many, many happy times there, hours on the Marine Drive watching the rough sea, it was sensational. It has all changed now I believe. And what the flip has happened to the good old Corner Cafe?
There used to be thousands of people there in those days, now it is deserted. Corrigans amusements, Max Jaffa at the Spa, Jaconelli's lemon icecreams. the Floral Hall, the open air theatre in Northstead manor gardens.
I used to live in Scarborough! I have walked along marine parade many times,Thanks for the memories. My parents were born and raised in Scarborough also.
