he said in interviews he has never shot up, but he did mix pills...coke, heroin and amphetamines..basically speed. he did this because he could never sleep..he always had to stay busy and write, because he was an insomniac. he broke that though and is sober...married..and finally relaxing for once

he was never a junkie. if you research around theres many many videos of him explaining his drug use and how it was always totally seperate from his music. plus, he never did heroin or anything to that degree. he wrote some of his greatest songs at this time and the performance here is fantastic.
