The trouble here is that he has not decided whether to play the movement cantabile, as he begins it, or staccato and energetic, as he continues it. Also the "cadenza" is misplaced. The embellishment of the dominant in a rondo movement, like this one, is not really a cadenza but an "Einleitung," which should be much shorter and certainly should not quote the first theme of the first movement.

I said one of the best orchestral player. When you dare to criticize a guy like Reinhold, I thought I better make it clear I have a great deal of recpect for him or everybody will jump on me ! I just can not belive the style he did this portion ot Haydn, I hope you will agree with me ? Worth to listen his Mahler symphony's recorded with Abado...etc (Available on Netflix)
@trombaclassicsff maybe he is you favorite out of all the world.but you cannot say he is the best.listen to mathias hoffs or nakariakov and many others that have a nicer sound and tone quality and artistic abilities...

Mr Reinhold is one of the best orchestral solo trumpet player in the world!
His Bandenburg No.2 with Abado is incredible !
But I must say I don't understand what he is doing with this rendition of his of the Haydn !?
