I worked at McDonald's when I was 17, and if any cop came in that had given the grill employees tickets, hardtime or whatever, their food always got spit in. I witnessed it myself. Sometimes they were some really nasty loogies, yellow and green ones. But they always smeared them in really well or added extra sauce to cover it up. They would always sneak around and watch the person bite into the burger and make little jokes about it. I've checked my burgers ever since those days.

To be fair to Burger King, it may have been a franchise (individually owned) restaurant, and the BK execs have less power over them (like participation in promotions or whatnot is voluntary).

And the Burger King's I've visited haven't had issues like this that I'm aware of. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of differences between chain restaurants- some are good, some are not.
