I'm so glad my parents (who are religious) didn't force feed me religion. In fact my mom caught me reading the bible one time and she was appalled. She sat me down and said: "you can be anything in this world, just please don't be a Christian".

My parents brought me up in the Baha'ii religion, and man, is this bit spot on! The whole "they can all be right" attitude felt like such an insult to my intelligence. I will give them credit for this, though - the Baha'ii tradition of studying other religions to look for the similarities is a surefire path to atheism if you're the sort of person who thinks objectively.

Why shouldn't religion be made fun of? My ideas are all open to and able to withstand critique and ridicule. You should know this was part of a show called The Coexist Comedy Tour. There was a Muslim comic, a Buddhist Comic, a Christian, a Jew, and a Hindu and they all made fun of each other as well.

My parents brought me up in the Baha'ii religion, and man, is this bit spot on! The whole "they can all be right" attitude felt like such an insult to my intelligence. I'm not stupid, I can tell when two claims are mutually exclusive. I will give them credit for this, though - the Baha'ii tradition of studying other religions to look for the similarities is a surefire path to atheism if you're the sort of person who thinks objectively.

They believe that christians will go to hell because they do not worship allah. It seems to me though that you believe just by being christian that you're immune from hell... read that bible again and find out otherwise. Matthew 7:2, Matthew 7:21 and Matthew 25:40 would be a good place to start.

You were going through too much trauma to be sure it happened during the time when you had no brain activity for certain.
