Good film but I don't understand why vampires would choose to live in the desert where it is sunny for most of the day. Personally I would go for Greenland or Alaska to make my home and hunting ground. Secondly what did the country bumpkin expect to happen after he returns home? That the vampires wouldn't come after him?

@fidodido411 no he did a complete blood transfusion. of course in real life it wouldn't happen that way. You crossmatch a blood sample first to ensure they have the right donar type

This film was a pile of shit..seriously. The blonde chick was a fucking dog, The story line was ridiculous, bill paxton overacted as usual, the vampires were the ugliest pack of freaks ever, the 'scary' scenes were laughable, characters unbelievable...I only finished watching in the hope that something good was coming...and here i am with egg on my face.

Well remember they originaly didn't plan on making a horror film. They set out to make a Western however they couldn't find funding for it so they mixed the horror genre with it. So that's why the plot is kind of meh.

I think it had gd story but it was just the wy they did it tht mde it quite boring. I thought Bill Paxton was the only one who made this film any good. He was actually the only reason I gave it a chance. Also recognised the Adrian Pasdar guy from Heroes. But he wsnt that gd in this film. I think it is a little weird how easily the vampires can be cured. ALright right at best but the story wasnt very well set out.

I found some similitus with the movie "Enterviu with the vampire" at beginig when she led drink her blood to him, and the sound of the heart, as living as a vampire for first time...

But is a very wel done film... I adore 80's movies so simplys but so well done. Good end! best vampires movie ever seen..Thanks to posting it !!

not a bad movie...wish i saw more vampire but this movie went another direction with the vampires no fangs or faces changing, it was interesting considering almost all vampire movies have the typical fan and fucked up faces. still i like the original vampires but this movie was a good one :)
