  • What really bother's me.... You see all the other memer's grave sites. All fancy Marble. They thought a lil bronze marker was what Allen deserved. This tribute band could have done the right thing. But to spend money on a Founding Member is to much to ask for. R.I.P L. Allen Collins Jr. the end before i really get going

  • i found it its off barry lee's new album

  • @s4veyours0ul what this song is??? how weird...this was a song youtube gave me to add to this video...

  • what music is this from i can't think of the song off the top of my head

  • thanks dude - good job - rest in peace Allen

  • Allen Collins was a very humble man, for Leon to compare me to him as a guitarist or man was an honor that i will carry in my heart forever!!! Himi J

  • Hey centuryboat fan, loved your story about Allen. Himi J

  • Thanks, also, Tony Beazley, for the posts about the Skynyrd band. I've enjoyed them so much and has given me more insight into one of the world's greatest R&R bands. I would enjoy listening to your insights into what it was like talking with these people! I did have the privilege of meeting Allen in 1980 and Gene Odom in 1982 and wondered what your take on the band was? Take care.

  • Very well done! R.I.P. Allen

  • I am not very good with web sites, face books ect. I just want to say that in 1995/6 i jammed with Leon Wilkeson as we were going to start a blues band. Well sometimes we would play Skynyrd songs, and the first time we played one Leon touched my left arm, and said that he had chills because when he listened to me playing he closed his eyes and it was like listening to Allen. You just dont get better praise than that as a guitar player. I'm not bragging just honored!!!

    Thanks Tony, Himi JD

  • @himijendrix69 - Whoa! That would have been a great experience. Thanks for sharing your story. I met Allen C. back in 1980 and he signed a RC album for me and said (I'll never forget it), "You remember me from Skynyrd? Thanks!" I'll always remember thinking to myself, "Are you kiddin' me!?" Wonderful moment.

ill always be struck by the extremes the man's life took

somehow those of us who have ls in our blood it's ac we identify with

more than rvz or any of the others but this is just my take

it's always gonna be ac trampoline- ing on that knebworth stage

    t/y for the tube

  • I like the way you pasted your name all over it. Way to be narcissistic dude.

  • I feel the most for Gary. he is the last original member with them. I have missed Allen since the first time seeing him in a wheel chair when they first added Johny and picked it back up. I about cried. seeing him like that. he was a amazing guitar player. he would bend 2 strings at different pitches at the same time. I have played guitar for yrs,and I am pretty good at bends, but I sure can't bend 1 string 1 and a half frets and the other a perfect half bend like Allen did, with on the hunt...

  • Tony,

The darkest day of my life until I lost my parents, and brother, was the day of the crash. Thank you for this wonderful group of videos.

I remember thinking similarly about Allen Collins, that he ranked right up there with Duane and Eric, and I seem to remember Tom Dowd saying something like that in the movie about him.

When ever I get down, or depressed, I listen to Simple Man, and I stand a little taller, and more straight.

    Thanks to them all.

Fly high Proud Bird, Free at Last!

  • Amen

  • Allen Collins was paralyzed in 1986. He did not just fade away -- in '87 he was an integral part of the Tribute Tour, acting as musical director, and in 1988 he founded Roll4Rock Wheelchair Events and Benefit Concerts to raise awareness about spinal cord injury. Allen's dream was to use music as a way to educate and reach people. Please visit Roll4Rock online for more information or to volunteer. MUSIC FOR PEACE

  • thanks Tony- Long Live Allen. I remember exactly where i was when i heard he passed on.

  • Thanks, Tony Beazley, for all the info and pictures and videos of Skynyrds classic days. They are not forgotten. All I can say is I hope the Van Zant familiy is doing ok.Donnie and Johnny. If you have any old pics. of Hell House,I sure would like to see them. I know hell house has been torn down sometime ago. Thanks so much

  • Allen Collins was such a great guitarist. My favorite. And he seemed like someone that would be a great friend. Down to earth. And on stage he just poured his heart out. Just so into the music. And yes Critics should have gave him more credit than he got. All the guys in Skynyrd are great. Everyone in the band,is super talented. And as a unit, they kick butt. I got to meet Artimus Pyle once , seems like a nice guy. RIP Allen Collins The music lives on.

  • Same. Allen Collins is my favorite as well. He had so much stage presence and was an amazing guitar player

  • i'll never understand why allen is not mentioned in the same breath as clapton, page, duane, and hendrix. i'm sure there's a long list of famous guitarist who bought their first six string after hearing free bird.

  • well most people talk about Ronnie and Steve.....why Allen isn't talked more about is beyond my understanding cause it took all those guys to really make the sound of Skynyrd...

  • Collins wife "KATY" was pregnant and collapsed leaving a movie theater in either 80 or 81..She died with their unborn child...He never was the same...Saw him with HIS BAND The Allen Collins band in Memphis in 1983 and he was TRASHED...When he had his car crash a couple of years later I was sad but wasn't surprised...I have often wondered though..Why isn't he buried next to Ronnie, Steve and Cassie?..

  • He loved her more than the members of the band...even though they were like a family too and he didn't die in the crash....not sure where Dean is buried.... not sure why he wasn't with them....

  • @SteveGaines too many people vandolized my grandfathers memorial in Orange Park Florida so they didnt want the risk of all of the others that fell in mississippi RIP Ronnie lost but not forgotin

  • I favorited this video months ago..I love Allen Collins.....Thanks!

  • This amazes me still~~I live right around the corner~~from what was..here in Jax..i remember

  • Great Job Tony..Now We Lost Another Great...R.I.P. BILLY POWELL

  • BP's Coming Home. This is a Great Song. Never grow tired of hearing it. Thank You Billy Powell

  • This song is in a class by itself.....over the top...still gives me chills after 20 years of hearing it....Billy did well!!!

  • Greetings from Van Nuy's California. Couldn't agree more (with Tony... ) One of Skynyrd's all time greatest - and it is all good for that matter. Will miss Mr. Powell just like I will miss them all. I will write to you later, Tony...

  • He is next to his wife. Is sept?,1980 on her side? I could not make it out all i know is the year. After 1980 Allen was on a one way road to drugs and not caring about anything.

  • Kathy was his "Baby Doll" and she is next to him. Allen refers to Kathy this way on the inside of one of the Rossington Collins albums. RIP Allen...We miss you!!

  • man, i always said i was born in the wrong decade. my pops saw skynyrd 27 different times, and became a good friend of allen, gary, and leon, and i hate him to this day for it. i'm as die-hard a skynyrd fan as you'll ever find, and i love em all, but allen was my man! first time i watched the knebworth footage, i wanted to grow out my hair, get me an explorer with an abr-1 tremolo, and play so hard that my fingers bled!

great man, great guitarist, and class act. we miss you Al!

  • He's home now. Thank You for that.

  • Quality. Thanks.

  • You're welcome ...thank you!!

  • Hi tony,

I was wondering after Paul and me get thru recording it in Atlanta would you be interested in shooting a video for it?

Please let me know.Your work is totally AWESOME. Skynyrd Brothers always,

    Randy

  • Thanks Randy....

  • Kick ass.

  • nice job

  • very nice job dude

  • Thank you Tony -- nice job!

  • Sad. Alan was the real motivater for the band. Great guitarist. Ronnies song fit well. All will be sorely missed. The Bird still flies high.

  • Well done Tony, perfect song!

miss you Allen, you crazy SOB!
