To this day Apple still over charges for all it's products, and still thinks having it's operating system work only on it's own hardware (i.e. the iphone) will win out just because it's "superior". Average people who aren't enthusist geeks aren't going to pay twice as much for a sleeker design and a couple of extra unnecessary features, but Jobs will never learn. Making excessible, usable products is why Microsoft won out for 2 decades.
@Yobachi2007 if you think that apple have been in any way unsuccessful in marketing their products at average users then i really don't know what to tell you.
@Yobachi2007 if you think that apple have been in any way unsuccessful in marketing their products at average users then i really don't know what to tell you.
So it wasn't until 2010 that Apple finally figured out that software (apps, programs) sells computers. The main reason that I use iPhone instead of Android is because iPhone got the best music apps.
As Jobs said in an earlier segment, the artist that steals is the one who is successful. This was when he took the Xerox idea of a GUI from the Alto. Then here he's the pot calling the kettle black when Microsoft creates Windows. I don't see much difference between these great corporations. But operating systems aside, Macs have always been outside of my price range. I don't have to have a WIndows platform on a PC, I can have Linux if I desire or even OS/2.
Preeeetty rich talk from Jobs considering the last time we saw him he was saying, "Good artists copy - great artists steal". Considering that, microsoft are just following his advice.
Steve jobs is a funny duck. I dont think he has ever written a line of code in his life. In this interview, he talks about fonts, and taste, and bla, bla, bla. So what does he do? He forms a partnership with Adobe to get what he wants. Many were of the opinion that the Mac GUI of the 80s was pretty bland and one dimensional. Windows 3.1 did have proportional fonts, and later MS invented ClearType, then OpenType.
the real problem is, Microsoft is still catching, at least trying to, to whatever the Current Mac OS is, which is today Mac OS X. And another problem, is MS is too conservative in there decisions.
As Apple is trying to catch up with MS windows in gaming. Sorry, but as long as windows supports the latest games and a large range of hardware combinations and software, it will still be my entertainment OS of choice. :P

GAMING!!?? R U CRAZY!??!?!? I would say that apple makes a faster, cheaper, more secure and more compatible system BY FAR!!!! Spending money on a gaming devicethat is anything OTHER than mac is CRAZY!!! Mac FTW!!!!!
nice troll. yah i'll just run over to the store and buy the mac versions of crysis and team fortress 2 and every major mmo ever made oh wait i cant they dont exist
Whats that suppose to mean??? i game on my mac (from time to time, although i like linux better) but gaming on the mac is possible, i play COD4, counter-strike, starcraft, quake 3 and i do this all on my macbook pro :)
@shodanbot Very true except for the fact that it is really a cruel world in that the vast majority of games don'r use open standards like OpenGL which means that for all the nice hardware you have, you still need to confine yourself and your game technology to the limits of what Microsoft DirectX is offering whereas something like OpenGL can use the latest features of any GPU right away without waiting for M$ to include it in DirectX. Sad thing that.
Steve Jobs is right. Microsoft operating systems have no taste. Windows Vista is awful. It was so bad that I went and bought myself a MacBook this year, and I wouldn't have done it if I didn't have all kinds of problems with Vista. Windows Vista is a retarded operating system.
On top of it they're seem to be trying to copy the OS X look'n'Feel (irony!), except for the dock. Look at the way the desktop is built, the color shemes, those leightweight apps that are allways on the desktop like tke clock (and any similarity with Daskboard is PURELY COINCIDENTAL).
I'm no computer geek, just an average user, for surfing, downloading, using MS word, dvds etc. And i had no problems with vista, it looks great, i like the stylish aero look, fast. If i was to be critical i'd say it can annoy me when the security continue message comes on, but thats no big deal. I don't see what is so terrible about it. Oh and everyone copies someone else's idea or enchances it at one stage or another, every company does that.
I agree, that other than the annoying UAC issue, which has been addressed in Windows 7, Vista was easy to install and just as easy to use on a daily basis. I also use a Mac, and to say the UAC is annoying is an understatement. On the Mac, you not only have to click ok to allow certain operations, but you have to supply a password as well.
LOL @ Steve jobs nagging about microsoft having no taste and originality!

Steve Jobs biggest mistake was the price of Macintosh. They were and still are too expensive for the average person.

@goblinking169 Jobs bought it from the Xerox and then completely remade it. Gates just copied it. MS is nothing but big copying machine.
