  • Alex is the man !

  • Michael Hedges was the best by far

  • @uoitofsogroj And yet Hedges penned a tune call "Song For Alex"... hmm I wonder who that was for.

  • Amazing from a human!

  • It's not so much his playing ( which is amazing,) but his compositions and interpretations that floor me. He changed my musical life in the 80's. Thanks Alex!

  • right on, i'm in love with his musical talent.

  • he is pretty darn good.

  • Alex is among the great acoustic guitarists.... also Tommy Emmanuel , Don Ross , Doug Smith , Antoine Dufour , Preston Reed and the Duo Martin Kolbe& Ralf Illenberger ............keep on

  • I was just looking through a box of old vinyl albums and found 'Southern Exposure' amoungst a few other 'Windham Hill' albums. Sadly I don't have a working record deck at the moment having gone 85% to CD. The album predates my wedding and my wife had never heard it so I took a chance on Youtube. Thanks for uploading it guitarfestival. I can't get any where near playing it on the guitar. Thats why I now play Celtic mandolin, smaller neck, less of a stretch!

  • alex, you are awesome! but geez! im iss that windham hill sound from you!

  • Wah !!!!

    You are amazing.

    Thank you

  • This guy is wicked. Windham Hill has a few videos, with Alex, Shadowfax, and a few other stablemates that are featured. I'd recommend Western Light, & Water's path. Just music playing with low level views from a cockpit flying through the Grand Canyon, and other place. Took me like 18 years to locate online. It was worth the wait, and Alex is an untouchable guitarist. Awesome talent!.

  • Just bought the latest issue of "Acoustic Guitar" for his arrangement of "Bury Me Not" - Can't wait until Alex publishes this arrangement as well to add to my little tribute set with "Shortnin' Bread" and "St. James Infirmary"!

  • Hedges and de Grassi, the one two punch of Windham Hill. These voicings are amazing. Very alive,

  • Sublime.

  • OR- Fucking- Gasmic!!!!

  • bonjour ,

Je sais que cette guitare est une breedlove mais quelle reference .

    Très chouette votre jeu !!

  • it's so awesome how he throws in the anthem. Blessings for him.

  • Incredible!

I am secretly glad to see he looks at the fretboard - event though I am sure he could do all this blindfolded.

  • This man is my hero.

  • This is great!!!

  • i've been a fan for almost 15 years, and there still is no better acoustic guitarist than Alex. the man is simply amazing.

  • @dragonaut James Taylor should cover vocals on Alex's Acoustic rendition of Fire and Rain. if there was a track out there of him singing on his acoustic rendition I'd download it

  • I forgot to mention the 24 String Harp Guitar piece stars Alex De Grassi. Check it out on my channel.

    Matt Chapman

    Chapman Digital Motion Pictures

  • & is it really true that he's related to Will Ackerman? I find that hard to believe, considering their background... That I checked out on the Wikiepedia...

  • cousins i believe...and both worked together doing house construction before ackerman started windamhill

  • Pure class!! What a talanted wizard indeed, thanks alot for uploading this :)

  • I saw him live for the first time last night and it was quite an experience. I didn't think seeing him live would be much different than listening to his recordings, but boy was I wrong. This song in particular gave me goosebumps.

  • This Guy was playing before i was born, and i may say, Mano mano.. he really knows something!

    greetings for great Music!

  • I have been a fan an dhave been watching him play for over 2o years....he is in my to 5 faves!!!

  • effortless

  • I think most of his compositions are very very captivating

  • he's such a talent

  • A fantastic original piece of art.
