I loved the end of this movie more than almost anything, I'll never forget first seeing it when I was 13, I came right up out of my seat and yelled YES!!!!
OMG!!!!!! I remember being young and hearing this song. I really liked this version. It stuck in my head. When I found it here and listened to it, I couldn't stop smiling, bouncing!! Thanks!!!!!
But for thirty-odd years I've been wondering which came first: The John Barry disco-inflected instrumental or the lascivious Donna Summer disco song? Did he adapt her song or was it the other way around?
wow,,oh man! this theme...i love it!..i just love it. I was wondering , weyeyeman or someone remembers an instrumental disco tittle "Surprise" i just dont remember nothing what orchestra, group or 'band' played it.. they used to used this disco record for parties, events, weddings and it was kindof like this tune...sentimental ..but it was such a pretty instrumental tune. I believe the year was around 1976 through 78. thks
This is one of those movies few of us saw in a theater but remember vividly from the ABC Sunday Night Movie back then. They added some footage you don't get from the DVD (yes, there is a DVD) and the music was so right on for that time era. Love the movie and the music...and of course J.B.'s wet T-shirt.
loved this movie when it was screened in 1978, liked Robert Shaw and the fight scene between Robert Tassier and Earl Maynard, sorry to hear that Tassier passed away some years ago

Yes it is very catchy, I love both versions instrumental and Donna summers vocal. a beatiful but obscure song

works much better as an instrumental than with summers vocals over it.

I'm never usually this patriotic, but John Barry was a WONDERFUL Composer - and he was GREAT BRITISH too! : - ) Sadly missed...

John Barry scored so many of the Bond movies that is hard not to think of Bond(especially the Moore era) when i listen to this.
