  • Which forum?

  • hey i got a 2001 f30 7.3 turbo diesel, when i press the gas the turbo doestn open do you know what may cause this.

  • Does it butt up against the valve cover? looks like a good idea! What about longevity doing it that way? has anyone had any problems with the vibration or pieces falling off?

  • i have a '02 7.3 had the same problem.

ford wanted 1100 bucks to fix this designed flaw.

and they wanted 20 bucks for 2 pieces of plastic that probably cost less than 5 cents to make 100.

i found this same solution and took 50 cents and 4 hours of my time and worked flawlessly.

i fully vouch that this IS the best solution.

my truck has 256000 miles and is running strong, hopefully i can get a million miles out of my truck. GREAT VIDEO

  • Dam, thats a great idea.

  • ....... a quarter? Seriously.....

  • @danmaneah65 Yes, a quarter...seriously.

  • @hhojunkie85 I doubt that the Ford designers put that there in the first place so why would that be a good idea? Surely the guys at ford have a better way of fixing this problem than putting a quarter in the valve-train area. Like he said, a shim from Ford. Probably a better idea....

  • What was the original problem you had? I'm having an issue but only have 70000 miles on motor

  • great video, I dont think the quarter will come back out once the valve cover is installed!

  • @jessemc2 Correct, it hasn't backed out in 2 years and i don't expect it to, unless the quarter miraculously chips its way through a valve cover. :)

  • dude i would no wanna leave a 1/4 in there :O what if it pops out ?>!

  • @kamilnj21 The quarter cannot pop out once the valve cover is installed.

  • Awsome video!!!!

  • you can fix this with a section of a Zip tie instead of using a quarter. or you can use the clip kit that ford produces. if you want i can get you the part number from y dealership

  • thank u for the amazing video, hopefully this is my problem
