Wow, the weakest enemy in Mother 3 is the same species as the enemy in Final Fantasy VI called Mantodea (Greater Mantis in the GBA version) which has the highest attack power of any enemy in the game (if you get hit physically by one you will more than likely suffer ~3000 damage, which will kill if you are not overleveled), more than double the attack power of the final boss. Additionally, he can use the infamous bugged Rippler move.

I'm playing this now, and I think I'll be able to beat the Soot Dumpling with combos. That song is very easy to do combos (I was able to do a couple of 16-hit combos on those Yammonster things and they have the same song).
