  • Anyone know where I can stream or torrent this? I'm in Spain so it would be hard to get otherwise

  • For those of you looking for the music, the Old Joy soundtrack can be found on Yo La Tengo's album "They Shoot, We Score".

  • I immediately knew this was oregon just from the scenery. go me

  • is her dog's real name Lucy too? :)

  • Lame ass movie!

  • @inblank YOU! have no taste in movies

  • It's so weird hearing Will Oldham's speaking voice.

  • Bagby is ok . . . but if they wanted a REAL experience of isolation mixed with serenity and some of the most beautiful scenery there is, they should have gone to Cougar Hot Springs in Blue River

  • "I never doubted you, man"

    Immortal words right there, people.

  • this is great !! going to watch this in web movie tube

  • Was anyone else shocked by that twist ending?

    SPOLIERS!!!

You know, when Kurt crawls into Mark's tent and puts Mark out of his misery with a machete? Then buries

his body but keeps his head in that motel room and waits for the police to arrive? Yes, it's a little slow. But for me, this is one the best horror movies ever made.

  • @erniehead HAHAHAHA!!!!

    Brilliant dude.....just Brilliant!!!!

I laughed my ass off at that!

  • Really heartfelt film, very sweet and understated... Perhaps not all there as goes for cinematic workmanship, but it had heart, which is the main thing. I love Will Oldham as well so it's always nice to see his bearded jaw

  • Old Joy - Will Oldham, original soundtrack by Yo La Tengo...it's a no brainer!

  • Amazing, beautiful, low-key movie. I absolutely loved it.

It's a damn shame that nobody in Poland wanted to screen it.

  • This movie reminds me of Austin, Texas. Not the scenery but the mood.

Whatever quality it embodies I never did decide how I feel about it.

I'm going to go with "I respect it, but it's not for me."

  • the return is amazing! my favorite ever too.

  • Beautiful and simple.

  • Fuck yeah...old Joy.

  • @JustElwood fuck yeah... Yo La Tengo :)

  • growin up and growin apart

  • Happy happy joy joy!

    Bonnie "Prince" Billy fans rejoice!

  • I fucking love Oregon. And, relationships can be tough sometimes.

  • Cult Classic

  • Tell me your 5 favorite movies, then I'll decide if your opinion is worth a damn.

  • Lol, go and watch Brad Pitt in the latest Hollywood money bucket bollocks!

This is what movies should be like.

  • @Gimic300 If only all arguments could be settled with movie knowledge, the world would be a better place.

  • It's like I could listen to that track all day. I only listen to it, or watch the film, in small bits, so I don't saturate myself with them. I don't want them to lose their charm.

I used to get the same euphoria if that old VW commercial for the Cabrio came on playing the Nick Drake song. Masterpiece, that song. Coupled with the image of driving through the mountains at night in a convertible was irresistible.

  • is the soundtrack out yet?? it's been ages since the film was out!

  • man, this looks great.

  • amazing movie!

  • the song on the film is called memories of abilene from yo la tengo. amazing song by the way! Impossible to find!

  • this movie is brilliant! very intimate and absorbing. waiting for the soundtrack by the also brilliants yo la tengo

  • this is my favorite movie of all time

  • right on

  • anyone know the song in the trailer?

  • It's an untitled track from the film, scored by Yo La Tengo. Due out next year on Matador.
