I sent a reply but I'm not sure it went through? STAY SAFE..........

  • I love the Irish guy's reaction! I remember being in a storm like this in Brisbane, watching from my 6th floor apartment as the lighting struck the ground all around me.

  • I have been lucky enough to see this from Bracken Ridge, it's spectacular and it doesn't let up.. its like the end of the world lol

  • we get storms in summer in brisbane qld australia. awesome! summer here is between november-feb

  • oh and btw @ 0:17 is a ghost effect from the camera lens reflecting, still pretty close tho

  • this vid is funny as hell, interesting, awesome, and cool all into one

  • Do you have an extra umbrella for a cute and sexy Texas Gal?? LOL!!!

  • insane in brisbane

  • holy faukin shat!! lol

  • @chargerfish1 LOL

  • Great footage. That lightning was pretty close; glad you were safe.

You noted it was a summer storm, yet you didn't upload it until July, when it was winter for you. Was it filmed during the summer and uploaded later? Is the weather warm in Brisbane year round and the storms just as intense? Just curious because I'm from the US and rarely hear of weather stories down under.

  • hauntedghostlady - I just went looking for some interesting footage to upload when I decided to start my youTube account. This was as good as any.

Brisbane, being sub-tropical, is warm and wet in summer, cool and dry in winter.

  • @HauntedGhostLady It's interesting moving to an area that doesn't get much lightning, then you realise that just as the Eskimos have 20 words for snow Brisbanites have at least 20 words for lightning. When quizzing a local(long way from Brisbane) over a recent thunderstrom I asked "what sort of lightning" - blank stare - "lightning" the reply.

  • pause straight after the guy says fuck me around 0:17 exactly after! be amazed

  • the streak of lightninig in front of the 4wd,clear as day well spotted

  • thankyou.

  • that was the "ghosting effect" basically just the lightning reflecting off the internal lenses of the camera, making it appear lightning hit the vehicle but it didnt. the thunder would be instantanous and violently loud. i dont know if you know this already but i figured i would say it anyway.

  • if you look at 0:16 - 0:18....it looked like it only hit across the road!!! Far out!

  • if its not a road...its another yard! whatever it is...it struck close!...NSW doesnt get that violent of storms but at the end of January 2008...They were violent

  • somethin is moving in the clouds at 1:13

  • A flock of birds was spooked by one of the lightning strikes around that time that was particularly close. A few seconds later you can see the rest of the flock take off from the right.

  • Holy Shet!!!XD What a storm! the cursing is hilarious!

  • the guy cnt swear properly lol

  • Holy Shet!!!!!

  • lol the guy swearing is hilarious 10/10 :D

  • Yeah this is defo no fake! good capture guys!

  • did ye have your brown troosers on laddie.

  • LOL. Isn't it funny that us Qlders are used to the sound of lightning but it scares the "shet" out of foreigners!

  • sorry to say this guys but that looks like it was edited, when lightning dangles from the sky like that it makes a HUGE noise, them bolts really look like they were put in cos theres no thunder

  • It was filmed with a 5 year old Sony Cybershot camera, the mic isn't the best on it. Sorry I couldn't afford anything better, Benno...

  • This is hilarious!

  • ahahahahahahah it is

  • this makin me laugh. ive got tears in my eyes

  • hahahah "holy fookin shet!"

  • OMG! thats well scary haha and the dude in the back round sayin holey shit soounds well wierd!! =S x
