Travis packs work much better. They did it wrong in this video. They should have connected a pig tail to the engine, then place a gated wye at the end of the short pigtail. Plus, we do not carry just one pack with us. Each person will carry 3 travis packs, along with thier hand tool and fire pack. But than again, we are the forest service... we are expected to work hard and be in shape. These city departments are another story.
I work with the US Forest Service and we use something similar called the Travis Pack. The inch is in a gnass pack attached to the wye and the 1 1/2in. is horse shoed over the wye. Once you get to the end you grab the 1 in. unfold it, charge it and go.
