I wanted to add my own thought to this. I wonder if this thing hit the earth at the cross of Christ. Here is a verse that might back this up, plus I believe there are a few verses similar to this one. Matthew 27:50 'Now Jesus, again calling out in a loud voice, let go of his spirit. 51 Then behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks split.' What do you guys think?
@Mavericks411991 in some sense, i think the point is more about the IDEA of christ impelling itself forward - as the symbol of the cosmic force of god, the universe as a realized being - and the effect it had on history....basically that the only way christ could happen was to create an entire context where it didn't happen - the other world. i believe it's not that either side has the "truth". it feels like the true reality is hidden from both sides in the mist of our unawareness of each other
I've listened to many hundreds of hours of Terence Mckenna but this is the first I have heard of this. Wow, he just continues to blow my mind. What a fascinating idea.
God, so fucking cool. Every time I read or listen to Terence Mckenna, there always comes this moment of intense sadness for me, when I realize that he's passed away and I'll never get the chance to talk with him face to face. That's like one of my ultimate fantasies lol, that he could be resurrected and invite me to come couch surf at his house for like 6 months, just to be able to chill with him and talk to him throughout the day. Probably the most interesting thinker I've ever come across.
Oh, dude. You totally edited out his outburst of laughter after he says how europe transformed into a "greco-roman mayan amalgam", lol. I understand why, but his laugh always gets me haha. After listening to hundreds of hours of his workshops I'd have to say that this story definitely stuck out to me as one of the most memorable things from Terence. Thanks for the upload.
Terence Mckenna died in apr 2000 of brain cancer caused by his drug use. today, he is in a place of unending torment, made worse by the fact that he lead children into drug abuse.
@shanrocks777 Couldn't agree more, that was my intention with putting this up, just to break one out of their comfortable little box for a moment and just suggest something that is TOTALLY different to their normal ebb and flow, whether or not you take this as truth, i like it simply for the small chance that while in that headspace one may be able to find their own funny little idea...i can only hope! thanks for listening! :::-)
@Maltozombie1123 The pleasure is mine. Thanks for posting. I'm always open and happy to hear Terence Mckenna lectures, since I spend a lot of time thinking outside the box, myself. But this one even threw me out of my typical parameters of thought. ;)
Its possible! wouldn't that be something if this is what 2012 has in store for the universe. i'd be down with that. I may see my spiritual twin. i always wanted a brother.
When I use to smoke weed back in the early 2003/4/5 I remeber saying to one of my friends that there R 2 earths, & it's like one is slightly behind/or in front of the other and it is in a diffent overlaid dimension....My friend just thought I was talking shit cos I was high (Hight Spiritualy likly), but then I heard Dolores Cannon in Convoluted Universe meantion the same thing & now Terence, hence, I believe there is alot of truth in this and is probably the big event that is going to happen :)
i love love this idea. i've had very similar dreams and ideas. weird hearing another say it. of course, if true, it's practically impossible to prove. however, my various psilocybin experiences have taught me that reality is incredibly deep, meaningful, poignant, interesting, and heart-crushing than we could ever imagine. whenever i think back on those experiences it fills my entire being with this deep feeling that a) all is ok, and b) reality is far stranger and beautiful than we can imagine
I love when Kathleen Harrison, his wife at the time of this speech, starts talking as a voice of reason, but then it just crumbles back into awesomeness.
@paindoll Sorry about that! totally thought i had the link in the description, if you're reading this. it should be there now, listen to the whole lecture! :] also, if anyone would like me to make more McKenna videos in the same vein as this one, thumbs up this comment please! thanks so much for listening everyone --Keep Going! (H)
@boxcarro Yes, he passed away from cancer in early 2000 if i'm not mistaken....but to answer in another way. No, he didn't die. he's still very much alive. i feel that Terence got to say what he wanted to say, and those who manage to 'sing their song' will live forever through the rest of us. :)
@kachetil No need to be so crass, the original audio is here on Youtube. in 'The Rites of Spring' it would be essentially pointless to just repost something that is put up in it's entirety elsewhere. so i extracted this and made it more accessible to those who may not listen otherwise.
@Maltozombie1123 There are many McKenna talks simply spoiled with gaudy techno crap, the music here was actually tasteful and contributed to the mood and theme. Nicely done.
Speaking as a fan of the Celts I think this scenario would make more sense if the roman empires collapse was quickened with the absence of christ and instead the celtic-norse northern european civilizations served as the backdrop to this evolution, they were more decentralized economically so the imperialism would have been closer to non existent, there would have been a more equal interaction with the noneurasian groups also including the africans and oceanic cultures.

This is Lusciferian teachings. Psychedelic drugs helped to delude this poor man onto these self imposed insanities.

This is such a ridiculous and absurd idea and yet, some how I can almost feel that it is true. Terence has that effect on me quite often.
