I am going to feed guppies to my Triops once they arrive in the mail... and then.. hatch.. and then... grow? And then GUPPY FEEDING TIME!! Dun Dun Dun!
I want to try an experiment with a large fish tank (or maybe several connected) and have a coexistence of trilobites and some fish. I haven't been able to find anything on youtube, anybody have some direction to point me in please?
@120Stevo There is a reason why triops live only in temporary pools. There are no fish cause the pools dry out. Any fish would make quick work of any triops in the tank.
i actually have these now only about 10 of them though i hav them just to make a bit of money of as i already had a tank lying around do u no how many eggs they lay a day and stuff cause i plan on just selling the sand and btw i dont expect to be a millionaire of this more like maybe a few hundred if im lucky
my tank setup is pretty similar only problem is tank can go very cloudy if there arnt enough water changes
Hey all! If you're interested in getting some of these bad boys I sell them on Ebay, I post worldwide, and my ebay name is Triopsman, Just search for Triops Cancriformis!
@SgtHamster45 you don't. once the triops are dead just extract the sand and then dry it. leave it for 2-3 weeks or put it in a container and ure boiler or summet and once it dries you can just add water and more triops will grow. U usually get more sucess this way then just using eggs from the kit as well just use sum new water mixed with some old tank water.
@SgtHamster45 not all the eggs hatch. A lot of them do and everytime I've done it if its in a decent sized tank theres still usually 30+ adults. And you don't have to put all the sand back aswell. My brother actually collected the sand and sold loads of packets of it on ebay lol.
@Spongeb0bSqu4repants ok thank's. You know, I've had a few longicaudatus this year and last year, but nothing more than two or three triops per time. how did you get all those ones in just one time
@Alessandrominis nah thats probably talking about the triops food supplied with the kit. And its not overfeeding its more if you give them too much then the food will go uneaten and make the water dirty which is why you only feed them a little bit at first. Once they get bigger put in small pieces of carrots.
Those things are like swimming roaches, they should all be destroyed

question: with a filter in your tank, did you need to manually clean the tank at all?

so if they 're all dead you just let the sand dry for 2 weeks and then just put new water in it and you (should) get new one's?

How do you collect the eggs from the sand? What is your method?

u put all the sand back? thats like...a million eggs=a million triop babies that will die=a few survivors

SgtHamster45 10 months ago
they're a lot! how do you feed them? what's that orange "thing" on the bottom of the tank?
Alessandrominis 11 months ago
@Alessandrominis chopped up carrots, main things I used to feed them were this pellet food, carrots (mainly) and worms

there is no overfeeding risk? because the instructions of my kit said that if I feed too much my longicaudatus they will explode!
