He means the places where the Mushroom blocks normally are in the Mario games. Personally, I would recommend using the shield power-up.

I meant where the mushrooms may be. Like, for instance, you made the Starman into an Invincibility box. Wherever the Mushrooms would be in SMB is where you should put a 10-ring item box.

or just give him a bubble when he breaks it.. In a more advanced way you could use mini Sonic from Sonic CD when he is normal form, and turn him into sonic when he gets a "Mushroom".
