Even though I do not play on the PC for ME. This video was really well done and I loved seeing the explosive usage of biotics. It was breathtaking. Abilities like this are what make these classes so awesome.
@DJBucca Kind of, but as a buff, all combined biotics will do an explosion now, so it's not limited to just Warp. So each of the Throws he does in this vid would cause an explosion in ME3. My friends hate that I get the kill sometimes when they use biotics on the people i've stasis'd or singularity'd. :3
@TheMostDefinately I've been trying it out, I'm not overly impressed. But that could be because I have not researched all of my assault rifle upgrades due to me playing an Adept. But it seems in Mass Effect 1 it is overpowered a great deal.

@rockmetalassociation Well, u cant change classes in the middle of the game and i suggest u start out with soldier coz u get to use more weapons which are the damaging ones.. Soldiers have a skill called adrenaline rush which slows down time around you, that makes the shooting part really much better and fun then the other classes.. but if you're going for biotic gameplay, powers, lyk the one in the vid u can start with other classes
I just found out that Shockwave on unshielded enemy + teammate's Pull is real neat combo, it'll throw enemy up in air and suspend them long enough for Throw or Warp Detonation. Looks hilarious and does great damage, even if enemy survives Detonation there's still fall damage.
And how does pull work? All mass effect fields do is increase or decrease the mass of what ever is inside of it. It can't move things only make things easier to move. I found a flaw in Biowares logic!

But now, from what I can tell, biotics essentially just use dark energy to give a biotic telekinetic powers. Abilities like lift and slam are easy to understand, but abilities like reave or dominate seem to have pushed the magical threshold. How would a biotic be able to control or affect someone's mind?
I have an alternative strategy to what he's doing regarding locking up the enemy and waiting for Miranda's overload. I often lock up a shielded enemy with Singularity and then takefree shots to finish off the shield with the SMG while the enemy is locked. Taking down the shield with the SMG will cause them to instantly get pulled into the Singularity. Then use the available Warp from Miranda (because she didn't waste the turn on Overloading the shield) to blow them to bits with a Warp explosion.
I was pretty stunned to discover many on the 'nets seem to view the Adept as the weakest class in Mass Effect 2. I'd easily rate it in the top 2 or 3 personally, and it's so much fun to use. Singularity is without question one of the best abilities in the game, and with a party of an Adept, Miranda, and Thane (or more dangerous yet, Liara), your party becomes a wrecking ball of Warp explosions.
I'm pretty sure that Singularity is supposed to do damage against shields. It's the most powerful biotic ability (but with the longest cooldown) and only Adepts get it. I don't think it's overpowered for Singularity to work against all targets.
@artgamer101 im not sure what your talking about, but each class can only have what there class gives, you cant take other powers from the other class. You can get a bonus power if youve beaten the game. but there not powers from other classes
@artgamer101 what do you mean with "get a class"? at the very beggining of the game you choose your class: Soldier, Sentinel, Adept, Vanguard, Engineer or Infiltrator. After you choose one, u are not able to change it during the game.
@artgamer101 Well, in the very beginning of the game. After the opening cutscenes, you get the chance to make your character and the class, just dont choose the quick start. that will always make you a soldier. He is an Adept. The biotic charge is for the Vanguard

@ZedekOfLP101 What you say is true but now you know how so many rock or metal fans feel when something is mistagged. Especially today where hip-hop artists are being tagged as "rock stars". I used to get very heated about that and about ready to rip someone's head off or pop a vein. The best you can do is enjoy it and tag it in your own library the way you feel it should be tagged. @IAreCrazyChris You can set up Warp explosions easily with Singularity (=good AoE damage) and you get access to Shockwave, plus Adept is less riskier than Vanguard (if you make bad Charge).
@IAreCrazyChris Plus its their ability to CC. Vanguard, to some extent, rely on their allies for cc. If you have heavy singularity you can hold up a harbinger no problem while you kill off the others. Also, the use of throw for an insta-kill is amazingly fun :D

@hollow088 i did that but then realized that you can change your class even when importing characters at the beginning of ME2. Plus I think vanguard shined so much more in ME1 and isn't nearly as awesome in ME2, but that's only my opinion. :)
This guy tends to have very informative videos, however his delivery is extremely tiring. Its often a bit of an endurance trial listen to him without being bored to death.
@Jdredlok It's perfect the way he speaks he's a very cool guy... If you want a less "tiring" delivery then go watch DMerk videos, if you prefer that ego-maniac over Gatsby. At least Gatsby doesn't keeps bragging about how good he is at Mass Effect 2, he just shows you the gameplay and gives you some advices on how to play.
i notice that when i use my singularity, its gone within 8 or so seconds after ive sent it out. Its maddening because between all the shielded enemies rushing at me and my singularity ditching me so fast, insanity is frustrating. Why cant there be a difficulty level that's challenging but not frustrating? lol
Throw is my favorite ability because I would use pull and then I would shatter the enemy with a level 5 heavy throw. It is almost like an instant kill to most enemies.
I dont know why but my bitocs have no power anymore, if i use pull they barely levitate! they just kinda levitate on the ground maybe 1 feet -.- also with my slma , i remeber when i used slam the enemies flew so fucking high but whenever i changed my graphic card and started a new gameplay the bitocs were less effective does someone have an idea why?
Now the question is: Adept or Vanguard? I don't need to know which one's better, but just which one's more fun. Got both ME1 and 2 recently during steam sales and not really sure what class I'm gonna use to play through ME2. Edging towards the adept currently, but which one do you prefer?
@AsTheDeath Vanguard got a harder learning curve. However, when you learn it, it's too fun. Charging across the map on Insanity and taking down 4 people, while on the run. It is, indeed, suicidal.
As an adep it's easier, you just need to learn to use your teams power and set up Warp Explosions as much as possible. I'd say Vanguard, but if you do not want to learn it, you'll be behind cover too mich - then I'd say go adept.
i think the adept is the weakest class in ME2 since it can't disable shields. Even Vanguard,Soldier and infiltrator can't,but they have more powerful weapons.
And since the cooldowns are shared,even the powers are not so useful.With all upgrades they are just ok,but in the early game they took too much to recharge.
Sentinel and engeneer can handle every situation -----> Tech powers are better than biotics in my opinion.
@TheInvoker78 Uhm... your squadmates? Samara/Miranda is your goodie teammates. Barriers are down in seconds due to reave/Warp, and with 5 tech power Mirandas overload will break any shields, exept YMIR mechs and bosses, at once. Follow that with Samaras (heavy) pull and your warp, and 3-4 enemies dies.
I found Adept to be awesome, just under Vanguard in my book. Followed by every other class. I play the game as 3 in 1, instead of 1 player and 2 AI. Keybinding are qutie helpfull ;)

I got myself Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY, Gears of War 2 GOTY, BF:BC2 Ultimate Edition, Borderlands GOTY, Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, and ME2 for Xmas; most of which I've never played b4. I can't decide which one to play first because I also just picked up ME1 again after trying ME2 a bit and really can't wait to start a Adept class for the first time. Decisions, decisions!
lol that seems pretty overwhelming =P. If I were you I'd do BFBC2 and Gears when I feel like playing online, Borderlands for some co-op fun, and all the others, besides ME2, can wait. I hated the Batman game and Dragon Age is so-so on consoles. ME2 imo is the best game ever created.
How do u use an assault rifle while playing s an adept. I got the game 2day and thought of picking adept cause of the biotic powers but I thought u could only use smg and pistols. How do u get assault rifles? PLZ answer....
@sureurmi565 Just play the damn game lol :) Guns don't really make a difference for me, I prefer smgs over assault rifles anyways, adepts are the shit unless you are playing on "insanity", then it becomes crazy.

@sureurmi565 I remember when i first got ME2 I was amazed by how it got linearized, you'll encounter everything you should, whereas with ME1 it was the opposite. I remember the Lunar mission, jesus I didn't know that exist until my second playthrough. Don't worry, ME2 will give you everything you need. Sentinels are so good for insanity, its easier than hardcore with an infiltrator imo lol. Don't worry about the assault rifle thing, just keep an eye out for things to scan.
You can also map powers to the mouse wheel in the center of most mice. wheel up for one power, wheel down for another, and press the wheel for a third. I know you said you can map powers to mouse buttons. But I did not know if you were talking about the wheel or not :)
I've watched many of your videos, and I must say that I disagree with you. For me, Pull and Warp are my 1 teir powers, Shockwave and push are 2nd and Singalarity is 3rd.
Warp is my main weapon because most powers don't affect someone with armor except Warp, so I throw that around to lower the armor and barriers. Pull is my bread & butter, as just on it's own it can kill but when combined with Warp or Push garrentees an enemy is down.
It's an assault rifle, and no its not a DLC. If you run through Tali's recruitment mission on Haestrom on Hardened or Veteran or Insanity without changing the setting. In the room where you talk to her (after the Colossus) you will find it there.
It's really good for taking out shields, but I prefer the Collector Assault Rifle. Even though I can use it :|
Yeah Adept is the one class I wish I had more hotkeys on the 360, but I compensate by setting up for the situation. In a spot where I know i will doing a doing a bunch of detonations I will have warp, if in a spot where I can throw people off platforms, I'll have throw and so on. I've also been known to hotkey shockwave if I'm on a thin platform like the bridge on illium, shockwave just cuts through line with ease, throwing everyone off.
Cool video, but Deepeche Mode on Mass Effect 2?!?? Although the soundtrack is lot of techno, DM sounds ridiculous, when watching these awesome scenes.
But, it's not a big deal. You are a great player.
Getting used to "pull" ability, takes some time, especially when there's some awesome powers, just praying to be used, nonetheless, using all the powers is what makes this class supreme and lot more fun then any other class in ME2.
what is that weapon you use in the video ?? the rifle i mean. i never saw this one o_O (and i played through me2 3 times, downloadet the collector-rifle and even went through the advanced weapon upgrade you get in a mission, but even then i got a red rifle (i forgot the name xD), which had 80 "bullets" in a magazine. but what is that thing you are using !?!
@Vecun it is geth pulse rifle and you can only get them if you play through the game in veteran or above diffcluty and you get it in recruiting taili mission
@jumsla yeah i recently played through me2 again on insanity and found the rifle. but its kinda weak against everything ಠ_ʘ. even against shields/barriers i have to shoot a long time until i make some serious damage. the vindicator is much stronger in my opinion. (or even the avanger rifle)
I have a question. Im a fan of throw but Im primarily into warp because even if you dont detenate the target, it still does the most damage out of all the attackes especially if your a nemisis and your warp is upgraded to heavy. Although this doesnt always mean it gets the best kills.
But my question is why throw? I mean the physics get the enemy like across the map with a single throwXpull/singularity, but the enemy rarely dies unless he is thrown off the map (a particular fun trick)
@brooklyn560 No, you do not, put points in shockwave and i heavily regretted it.... You can only max out 5 skills. And Pull, Push, Warp, Singularity and mastery are much MUCH better then shockwave.

Man I was considering roleing an adept but as a vanguard fanatic who has done 2 insanity runs on the vanguard the adept style feels a bit too static for me. Am I wrong?
ive noticed that if you throw a singularity AT a target with protection (armor, shields etc) they get stuck however dose that work the same if i LAY a singularity on the ground as a trap? im refering to all those husks at the Reaper IFF stage. my teammates keep dying and it would be pretty useful if i could trap them all, but they all have armor on insanity
How do you have overload as one of your main powers as an adept....or is it because of miranda? sorry I play on a 360 so my knowledge of PC controls is limited
Very easy to do it on 360 too really. Two shoulder buttons and a face button, plus the d-pad simples. Not as substantial as PC of course but easy nonetheless.
Just seems loads of people, especially on walkthroughs on here, play like Soldiers regardless of their chosen class.
oh never mind i just saw miranda's smg had it too. you must have squad disruptor ammo on zaeed. Do ammo powers stack? That would be cool if I could stack disruptor ammo from a squadmate and my warp ammo.
nope it just overrides the existing ammo type...lol if we had the stack effect then u could take AP ammo from garrus incendiary from grunt and ur own warp ammo to kick collector a**

@Jdredlok It's perfect the way he speaks he's a very cool guy... If you want a less "tiring" delivery then go watch DMerk videos, if you prefer that ego-maniac over Gatsby. At least Gatsby doesn't keeps bragging about how good he is at Mass Effect 2, he just shows you the gameplay and gives you some advices on how to play.

i notice that when i use my singularity, its gone within 8 or so seconds after ive sent it out. Its maddening because between all the shielded enemies rushing at me and my singularity ditching me so fast, insanity is frustrating. Why cant there be a difficulty level that's challenging but not frustrating? lol

Throw is my favorite ability because I would use pull and then I would shatter the enemy with a level 5 heavy throw. It is almost like an instant kill to most enemies.

I dont know why but my bitocs have no power anymore, if i use pull they barely levitate! they just kinda levitate on the ground maybe 1 feet -.- also with my slma , i remeber when i used slam the enemies flew so fucking high but whenever i changed my graphic card and started a new gameplay the bitocs were less effective does someone have an idea why?

Now the question is: Adept or Vanguard? I don't need to know which one's better, but just which one's more fun. Got both ME1 and 2 recently during steam sales and not really sure what class I'm gonna use to play through ME2. Edging towards the adept currently, but which one do you prefer?

@AsTheDeath Vanguard got a harder learning curve. However, when you learn it, it's too fun. Charging across the map on Insanity and taking down 4 people, while on the run. It is, indeed, suicidal.
As an adep it's easier, you just need to learn to use your teams power and set up Warp Explosions as much as possible. I'd say Vanguard, but if you do not want to learn it, you'll be behind cover too mich - then I'd say go adept.

i think the adept is the weakest class in ME2 since it can't disable shields. Even Vanguard,Soldier and infiltrator can't,but they have more powerful weapons.
And since the cooldowns are shared,even the powers are not so useful.With all upgrades they are just ok,but in the early game they took too much to recharge.
Sentinel and engeneer can handle every situation -----> Tech powers are better than biotics in my opinion.

@TheInvoker78 Uhm... your squadmates? Samara/Miranda is your goodie teammates. Barriers are down in seconds due to reave/Warp, and with 5 tech power Mirandas overload will break any shields, exept YMIR mechs and bosses, at once. Follow that with Samaras (heavy) pull and your warp, and 3-4 enemies dies.
I found Adept to be awesome, just under Vanguard in my book. Followed by every other class. I play the game as 3 in 1, instead of 1 player and 2 AI. Keybinding are qutie helpfull ;)

I got myself Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY, Gears of War 2 GOTY, BF:BC2 Ultimate Edition, Borderlands GOTY, Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, and ME2 for Xmas; most of which I've never played b4. I can't decide which one to play first because I also just picked up ME1 again after trying ME2 a bit and really can't wait to start a Adept class for the first time. Decisions, decisions!

lol that seems pretty overwhelming =P. If I were you I'd do BFBC2 and Gears when I feel like playing online, Borderlands for some co-op fun, and all the others, besides ME2, can wait. I hated the Batman game and Dragon Age is so-so on consoles. ME2 imo is the best game ever created.

@sureurmi565 I remember when i first got ME2 I was amazed by how it got linearized, you'll encounter everything you should, whereas with ME1 it was the opposite. I remember the Lunar mission, jesus I didn't know that exist until my second playthrough. Don't worry, ME2 will give you everything you need. Sentinels are so good for insanity, its easier than hardcore with an infiltrator imo lol. Don't worry about the assault rifle thing, just keep an eye out for things to scan.

You can also map powers to the mouse wheel in the center of most mice. wheel up for one power, wheel down for another, and press the wheel for a third. I know you said you can map powers to mouse buttons. But I did not know if you were talking about the wheel or not :)

Pull and throw will make your average grunt stumble, I used it all the time when fighting krogan and varren when they get close.

I've watched many of your videos, and I must say that I disagree with you. For me, Pull and Warp are my 1 teir powers, Shockwave and push are 2nd and Singalarity is 3rd.
Warp is my main weapon because most powers don't affect someone with armor except Warp, so I throw that around to lower the armor and barriers. Pull is my bread & butter, as just on it's own it can kill but when combined with Warp or Push garrentees an enemy is down.

It's an assault rifle, and no its not a DLC. If you run through Tali's recruitment mission on Haestrom on Hardened or Veteran or Insanity without changing the setting. In the room where you talk to her (after the Colossus) you will find it there.
It's really good for taking out shields, but I prefer the Collector Assault Rifle. Even though I can use it :|

Yeah Adept is the one class I wish I had more hotkeys on the 360, but I compensate by setting up for the situation. In a spot where I know i will doing a doing a bunch of detonations I will have warp, if in a spot where I can throw people off platforms, I'll have throw and so on. I've also been known to hotkey shockwave if I'm on a thin platform like the bridge on illium, shockwave just cuts through line with ease, throwing everyone off.

Cool video, but Deepeche Mode on Mass Effect 2?!?? Although the soundtrack is lot of techno, DM sounds ridiculous, when watching these awesome scenes.
But, it's not a big deal. You are a great player.
Getting used to "pull" ability, takes some time, especially when there's some awesome powers, just praying to be used, nonetheless, using all the powers is what makes this class supreme and lot more fun then any other class in ME2.

@jumsla yeah i recently played through me2 again on insanity and found the rifle. but its kinda weak against everything ಠ_ʘ. even against shields/barriers i have to shoot a long time until i make some serious damage. the vindicator is much stronger in my opinion. (or even the avanger rifle)

I have a question. Im a fan of throw but Im primarily into warp because even if you dont detenate the target, it still does the most damage out of all the attackes especially if your a nemisis and your warp is upgraded to heavy. Although this doesnt always mean it gets the best kills.
But my question is why throw? I mean the physics get the enemy like across the map with a single throwXpull/singularity, but the enemy rarely dies unless he is thrown off the map (a particular fun trick)

@brooklyn560 No, you do not, put points in shockwave and i heavily regretted it.... You can only max out 5 skills. And Pull, Push, Warp, Singularity and mastery are much MUCH better then shockwave.

ive noticed that if you throw a singularity AT a target with protection (armor, shields etc) they get stuck however dose that work the same if i LAY a singularity on the ground as a trap? im refering to all those husks at the Reaper IFF stage. my teammates keep dying and it would be pretty useful if i could trap them all, but they all have armor on insanity

Very easy to do it on 360 too really. Two shoulder buttons and a face button, plus the d-pad simples. Not as substantial as PC of course but easy nonetheless.
Just seems loads of people, especially on walkthroughs on here, play like Soldiers regardless of their chosen class.
