Why don't some people buy the LP??? You'll see the credits are right and nothing was "stolen" here! Track 1 side 1 Parana (Hugo Fattoruso) track 2 San Fransisco River (Flora Purim) track 3 Tombo in 7/4 (Airto Moreira). Side 2 has 2 more tunes by Hugo. He and his brother were part of the line-up when "Fingers" were recorded... God I hate the CD era. Half of the information is wron, titles are wrong, editing is wrong... Vinyl till is the best!!!!!
So great to hear the original cut/edit of this. I had it many years ago on a casette (which I wore out! and by brother pinched and lost it) Fantastic memories of the Jazzfunk & Latin music scene in the UK.
Young people are always loooking for new music by new musicians...they should just look HERE and LISTEN to what's been so eloquently said before their time.
One of the few albums that always seems to be in my listening rotation -and has been since it came out. The cover is beautiful, especially as it was a CTI release and all their covers were beautiful with a thick clear varnish.
Mab has it right -top five of all time (and all genres).
I SAW AIRTO LIVE IN MIAMI AND IN ATLANTA, HE CHANGED THE WAY I PLAY MUSIC , A GREAT JAZZ FUSION BRAZILIAN MUSICIAN, ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL TIME
oh my god ive been dying for this song thank you thank you sooooooooo much... any more songs from this album youd be doing the world a favor... you are soooooooo awesome for uploading this you just made my life so much easier...preetworks....
Saw Airto and Flora and their band at the old Keystone Korner in San Francisco in 1973. Nothing short of amazing! Still influencing me as a percussionist these many years later.
@salvadorascencio The truth is that Hugo Fattoruso, was rehearsing with Airto. They created this song the two together, but the best known, called Samba de Janeiro in the 90s, was created by Hugo, not Airto. I say this because I feel horrible that someone for money, have the audacity to say that well-known melody, He created him.
F'ing epic.

Got any more from this album? A friend of mine had it and I especially remember the title song "Fingers" and "Parana".

manFromTomorrow, thanks a lot for this, may you upload more tracks from Fingers, like Parana?

@salvadorascencio
Paraná, was created by Hugo Fattoruso. Like the song Samba de Janeiro, Airto and bad ethics and morals, he stole those songs.
pregliasco11 7 months ago
@pregliasco11 Then they were stolen by Airto Moreira?. And it seemed to me strange that Fingers is sung in Spanish.

@pregliasco11 Thanks for the information. Fattoruso from Opa band. I thought
the song fingers was originally created by Airto.

I brought this album to my first grade class when I student taught, along with various instruments used on the album.
