This movie was directed by my uncle Frank Shields,he has produced and directed a few other films such as The Surfer and The Finder.

I was not allowed to see this movie when it was released in the early 80's as it was a bit

violent.

Yes he's still at it,last thing I saw he produced was here on You Tube,Liberty In Restraint.Before that was a doco on the Great Barrier reef in which he also appears.

I do have an original sweat shirt from the Hostage in the wardrobe,I don't wear it but it's there.Couldn't find the Freedom film here on You Tube myself but if you've found a clip,please send it to me.

Because I couldn't locate Hostage anywhere in Aus,I went ahead and bought the US VHS version of this movie, titled "Savage Attraction" from an Amazon seller. I'm annoyed that it was marketed as a semi-porno over there but am still happy to have the movie. It's another option - you just need to fool around with your VCR tracking and it will play fine. Yep! some of us old relics still use VCR :)
