  • I think James Dean Bradfield once said..

  • Cornershop are just a crap heavy metal band

  • Great to see/hear this again. I have a copy of Getting Closer To Nothing on VHS somewhere... Takes me back, saw CS a lot alongside Voodoo Queens, Mambo Taxi, Huggy Bear etc. There were even some connections to Blaggers ITA who I also saw often at that time. The stuff on Brighton Pier and Brighton beach in this are taken from the promo video for my book No Pity done the year before, and that's on my YouTube channel if you wanna check out how it was originally used (you may have seen it already).

  • viva la proletariat! fuck the nazi scum!!!!

  • brilliant, everytime I hear it I just want to break something!

  • Anyone know what the intro sample is- it's been nagging at me for the last 15 years. "The People of Earth Leave us no choice etc..."

  • It's from "Godzilla"

Hope that ended 15 years of hell

  • Thanks for that- at last I can move on and start to live again..

  • You're welcome. Was it really driving you that crazy? I just punched it into Yahoo and found it in a couple of minutes.

  • Is this man still around, they had a very original sound, particularly Tjinder Singh

  • "I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour... FIGHT THE POWER!" greatest lyric mash up EVER! I LOVE that bit! And the chiming guitar bit over the fuzz. I taped the Lock, Stock... EP onto cassette and played it on me old yellow 'Sports' Walkman until it went wobbly. I like lots of new bands too, I'm not some old Mojo whore, but the 'shop were the tops! Thanks for posting this video, I've never seen it! ACES!!!

  • that was the first cd i ever bought (vinyl up to then), brought it home and played it on our 4 foot high "stack system"! blew me away, especially loved summer fun in a beat up datsun, i was around 16 and it was just the kind of music i wanted to hear!!

  • 'Wackybumcheek'!!! What a great moniker! YESSS! Summer Fun In A Beat Up Datsun, come on! I LOVED that one too! 90 short seconds of pure goodness. I was about 20 when that came out but I'm from near Bradford and when I was growing up in the 80s everyone had beat up Datsuns! Usually brown. Other things I loved at around this time (1993?) were Voodoo Queens, Bikini Kill and Sister George. 'It's a new regime through a broken windscreen!' Just ace!

  • haha fair play, sounds like dublin pre celtic tiger alright, it was nothing unusual to see a car with a bin-liner for a side window! the indie chart on sat morn on utv brought us these, sweredriver (son of a mustang ford!), mbv, moose etc. great days!!

  • fuck mozzer,then and now,racist prick.greatist tshirt ever,token honkey,great drummer,formula one were ace.

  • you know, he did say back in a 2001 interview that 'when i was born for the 7th time' was his favourite album of the nineties. a rare case of him not bearing a grudge.
