I'm planning on buying spare brake pads for my '09 GF Tassajara with Shimano M486, hydraulic disc, 160mm CenterLock rotors and the stock pads are Shimano resin B01S. There is a 1st version, as well as a 2nd version. Can someone please tell me what the differences are between the two?
@sbwhitley You´re welcome :) I´m always amazed how much do the shops charge just for a simple brakepad change or a bleed .. Yep, it´s a little bit of a dirty job but it´s not that bad :) I´m glad I helped you :)
Complete rubbish, never failed to bleed my brakes using the standard shimano method.......tried this and now I need to do a complete drain, fill and bleed. Utter pants.
@climbingkev I think that´s your disability to do stuff well :) I don´t want to offend you but this works for me :) I´ve been using this method for about 5 years and it has never failed :)
@gdossier i used it just to pour oil into the resrvoir tank :) if you buy the originally packed shimano mineral oil it comes in a packaging that you can pour oil with :)
Great clear instructions, just what I wanted. Could do one for changing hoses ?

@Winprog15 Back to the Shimano site and a swift, perfect bleed! My "disabilty" truly conquered! ;o)
Short-cuts are.....errrr........short-cuts!
Happy riding and may the (brake?) force be with you! :) :) :)

never says to put your pads back in...
i wonder if i can substitute something for the "bleed space"

@chuckmasterryche
if you have an old set of pads...that could be used instead of the spacer.

What about bleeding the top part? I mean where the brake lever goes...

Hey. Great vid. How often does this need to be done? Thanks.

quality vid, thanks for the assist, although having just replaced the rear calliper and bled, the seal and piston just went in my lever:-(

When do you use the pad spacer? Do you know anywhere that sells this equipment without calling it a bleeding kit?
