@KASnROSS4eva yea , they were guests on the show as well. i remember this episode. it was one of the greatest ever ! Tripple H was there with the wrestling crew too
chappelle once said on oprah that showbiz wants to dress all the black actors as women at least once..........thats one of the reasons he quitted his show....
@TheCTh19 Did you watch the show? It started off with Mcmahon telling Mick Foley, The Big Show, and Triple H to not start crap with the rock until after the show. During the monologue Triple H came out and shook his hand saying "break a leg" then proceeded to say "I'm still going to kick your ass after the show." They kept kayfabe because Mcmahon ordered them not to do anything.
Aw man... I remember this SNL. My mom let me stay up to watch it just because it was The Rock. Mick Foley and Big Show being there made it even more hilarious. The rock makes a HIDEOUS woman. But they say the uglier you are as a woman, the better you look as a man. Incidentally, The Rock is REALLY hot.
This why the rock stop wrestling and went on to acting good at both and acting last longer but I miss the old days when it's was world wrestling federation.
I love the Rock, and when Big Show and Mick Foley joined in at the end of that skit, I was laughing so hard, I was snorting like a pig!! That and Papa Peepers, OMG!!! ROFLMGDAO!!! x3
the tall one... haha what kind of a name is big show? was he born and they named him the big show? haha or is that just one of the gay wrestling names?
After watching this I really miss the good old WWF days!! Foley, Big Show, and Rock all singing together just proves how big wrestling was back then. The SNL crowd was chanting Rocky, if any other WWE superstar were to host, I guarantee you that nobody in the crowd would chant their name or even know who the wrestler is. A crowd that is not predominately filled with WWF fans know enough to distinct that The Great One was hosting. Foley and Big Show in the skit proves WWF's popularity. WWE sucks!
Edge isn't more committed than The Rock, he's extremely less talented than The Rock. If he had star quality like The Rock, guess what he wouldn't still be wrestling. If Edge was offered many, many, millions to act in a leading role of a major motion picture, his wrestling days would be over. The only reason he's still wrestling is because he wasn't offered such a chance because he's simply very much less talented than The Rock. Even in wrestling The Rock is the greatest of all time. 8 WWE titles
Okay, someone's got to check you back into reality. I've got no problem with the Rock. He's a great entertainer. To call him the greatest of all time though, is a ridiculous statement. You talk of 8 wwe titles. Ric Flair is a 16 time champion. If you're basing your argument on titles, you've lost. Even Triple H is a 10 time champion. Edge is in fact a more talented wrestler, where as the Rock is a more talented showman. Edge has been committed to wrestling since the age of 6. Know your role!
Dude, Edge is such a Big Loser Like Wrestler, He don't Have Grapple Stance and Most Importantly... He don't Have Executtion (Did You Watch That "Spear"?)...
Edge is just a "Mediocre" Wrestler with a good Gimmick...
Edge will never be asked to host SNL because very few people in 'reality' do not know of Edge. Everybody, whether a wrestling fan or not, knew of The Rock. The people in the crowd was chanting "Rocky!", you'll never get such feedback for a WWE superstar now like The Rock did. What are u smoking anyways? More main event quality nowadays are u serious? Stone Cold, Undertaker(old 'Taker) Triple H, Big Show(thinner), Cactus Jack, the list goes on.
Disney audience? Kicking somebody in the head, RKO'ing a woman, and attacking somebody with a sledgehammer isn't Disney's audience. PG stands for Parental Guidance Suggested: SOME MATERIAL MAY NOT BE SUITED FOR CHILDREN. So it has absolutely nothing to do with going PG as far as WWE goes.
Um having the bosses son in law beating up three guys with a sledgehammer and chasing them back (which made orton look like a coward after being beat up by the bosses other son weeks earlier)
No the case isn't rested because obviously you didn't get my point. I'm talking people are always complaining about WWE going kiddy or DISNEY(like you), when the rating PG isn't exactly kid friendly. Your talking about the storylines not being the way YOU want them to be. Just because you don't like the storylines it doesn't mean it's Disney. lol.
I prefer wrestling, these days. There's more of a focus on actual wrestling, rather than a ten minute match ending in a brawl and then Steve Austin coming down and hitting someone with a chair.
lol, mick harmonizing in the background. I remember the big show doing a lot of comedic sketches in the wwf after this show. These guys are pretty funny.
you're serious? you mean technically speaking or as an entertainer, because you have to remember that part of "wrestling" is entertainment and he had that part hands down
for every "Doom", there's a "Mummy Returns" (even if he had a bit part in it).......what's the real reason the Rock is a "hack" as you seem to imply? :s
He was a lacklustre wrestler. He also seems quite confused, to me. Usually, movie actors try and fail to become professional wrestlers, not the other way around. Or, has nothing changed?
I think the box office receipts would say that he hasnt completely flopped as an actor.......I dont understand the confusion you saw/see in him but I think it's difficult to argue that the guy is entertaining no matter the media/venue/setting........I ask again, what was so "bad" about his wrestling? or better yet give me an example of someone you would consider a "great wrestler"....
I do. I also know more about spelling than you do, apparently. The Rock just wasn't a good wrestler, from what I could see. I thought that was obvious, but apparently not.
I think Edge has partly benefited from injuries, infighting, and a general lack of talented performers in the biz at the time.......all that said, I would agree with you on the notion that Edge is great, but I wonder how much of that would have happened if a void at the top wouldnt have happened.....there has to be a reason Vince waited so long before putting the guy at main event level....
There needs to be a "void at the top" for anyone to be elevated to the main event, including The Rock. He went from being Intercontinental Champion to winning a WWF Championship tournament which was set up after Austin vacated the title, due to injury. Also, this'll probably put us on ends, but I think there is much more maine vent-quality talent in the WWE now, than there was in The Rock's time. Plus, Edge is simply a better wrestler and is more committed to what he does.
while it's true that there always needs to be a "void" or at least someone agreeable to step aside and/or give someone a push but not every champ has need that.....Your Rock example is slightly flawed because they were probably going to put him into a rivalry (much like their IC champ days) because that sold tickets....I think what alot of fans miss on when talking about wrestling is the show itself so showmanship is important when "ranking" wrestlers today
cont. - as for that final point, Edge is definitely more committed to sports entertainment which is why they both are doing what they are doing right now........so you'll get no argument
