  • shit,i had no idea thats what happened to the lead singer, under rated group,

Dollars. I´m so sorry for Brian....I loved him and I´m not gay :-)

Sweet war meine erste Lieblingsband, ich hab Set me free gehört da war ich gerade mal 8 und hab abgerockt wie ich konnte.Sweet fans, vergeßt Brian nie

  • Fuck, that drummer is good;

  • @chum38 Mick was a legend sadly died too young leukemia

  • @chum38 hes so good he has 5 drums and 3 plates

  • Andy Scott was a big influence on my playing and Mick Tucker was probably one of my all time favorite drummers. Ass kicking stuff here!

  • Sweet vill live forever!!!

    R.I.P.Brian a Mick.

  • probably my favorite sweet song,..

  • Damn what a band! Great players and original songs too. Drummer kicks ass.

  • met Brian a few years before he died. Nice geezer,

  • i use to cover this, but i learned my version from steve stevens....this is the first time ive seen and heard the original...that really kicks ass....

  • What date was this realeased? Did it pre-date that 'Queen' style of close-harmony?

Did Queen hear it and were influenced? Or was it vicee versa?

  • @Lytton333 Action came out in 1975; US early '76. In at least in one interview, Andy Scott accused Queen of ripping them off, but seems more a case of "great minds thinking alike." Loved 'em both!

  • I HATE UMG,SONY AND ALL OF THOSE FIRMS THAT FUCK UP MY WATCHING THINGS THAT KEEP ME INTOUCH WITH MY PAST!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, I didn't realize what great musicians they were. They deserved more air time for more of their songs.

  • Me converti en fan de esta banda... lastima que un poco tarde para mi... pero la verdad es que siento que estaban muy adelantados para su tiempo, por algo tantos han copiado su musica y logran ponerse en la cima con las canciones de Sweet.

I´m a new fan, sorry... is late for me, but the true is that the band play music for the future... Sweet is Greate band..

  • @juankmedallo sumerce nunca es tarde, yo soy fanatica de sweet desde los 7 y ahora tengo 38 y me gustan igual que la primera vez que los escuche

  • Action !! One of my favourites songs of The Sweet. They were so very good musicians and so underrated. For me, they will be forever one of the best Rock bands for all time !! The Sweet rocks !!!

  • Cool song - but I think they were miming.

  • EVERYBODY want's a piece of the ACTION---- right? ... :)

  • my first band was sweet, then on to queen, great harmonies in both bands,

  • This sounds like it could be an early Queen song. Kinda sounds like Sheer Heart Attack.

Being a rather old dude now, this is my high school soundtrack, and this song was one of my favorites. Thanks for posting.

  • any one got man with a golden arm and if we dont fuck you then someone will

  • Brian is sooo beautiful and sexy here. I still can´t decide what I like more, his front or his back side :O)

  • Briaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!! xxx

awesome song by a great band

  • Best Glamrockband ever!!!!

  • That crowd is going insane for these guys lol!

  • ACTION...!!!!!!.....................! Is Funny

  • the Def Lepard version is heavier, rockier and better

  • @leedsladinnit def lepard is a pathetic band the only good songs they did were covers ,really dont know why vivian campbell is in this band.Sweet all the way

  • Way to lay down that beat Mick!

  • Good song, but I love a Def Leppard`s version more

  • @avstarostin As allways..when you´ve brought up in that period, you love the original version better. It brings back memories! But I agree.. DL version is very good!

  • @MrTremors1 fuck you asshole cheap trick is the best

  • Greatest. Period.

  • Out of all th bands England sent us and there have been many Great ones. The Sweet here was and always will be the best Shipment they sent us. Get in on the Action!

  • Great song. Great band! Its a shame the lead singer died penniless in a government flat. The other side of rock n roll!

  • @GaryDenverShaw

    What's wrong with dying penniless?

Maybe his hair was perfect at least.

  • the 70's YOU KIDS HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE HOW REAL MUSIC REALLY WAS... limit yourselves to watch on You Tube

  • We saw "Sweet" at the Hard Rock casino in Biloxi earlier this month and they opened with "Action". Missing some original band members but WOW they rocked!

  • @VValkyrie ...You really didnt see "Sweet"....since 2 of the original members are dead.

  • @Asylum609 Well, what did I see "Semi-Sweet"? Sorry, I could not resist. They still rocked.

  • @VValkyrie: You saw Steve Priest's Sweet. He is the original bassist. Andy Scott has his own Sweet in Europe. Mick and Brian have both passed on. Sweet was and will always be: Brian Connolly, Mick Tucker, Steve Priest and Andy Scott...the original!!!!

  • Love it. I also like def leopards version

  • 10 stars.

  • Really? I

  • I don't know a whole lot about the members names, ect. but I loved listening to them as a young boy.I remember Little Willie, and this one especially!! Their guitarist is awsome, what's his name? Also I wonder what they would have sounded like with Brian May of Queen seeing that his style was right up their alley.

  • @TheZepmeister Sweet's Guitarist is Andy Scott, They don't make em' like this any more, but Def leppard come damn close. checkout their versions of Action and Hell raiser, also check ou Poison's version of Little Willy.

  • such a loss, Brian was awesome,,,,,, but loved the booze too much !!!!!!!!!

  • these were rock gods and still are x

  • That was the party´s songs of 70´s.

  • Sweet! Rock Gods! Straight Forward, "In Your Face" Rock n Roll. Desolation Boulevard was my favorite album. Played it until the vinyl melted!

  • satisfaction garaunteed,,,, thats what everbody gets from these guys ,,top rated super stars

  • andy and brian are the best *_*

    love these guys

  • Brian was and will always be the front man and main voice of SWEET, too bad the decline of his health caused them to separate if he had taken care of himself they could have gone on for much longer.

  • Did I miss this???? I dont think so!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • absolutly great band and g r e a t musiciaNS,mick tucker-best drummer,better of bonham-technique is many many better

    tom prague

  • Sounds a bit like Queen but better.

  • Wow this is as good as it gets, does anyone these days do something like this? I say no. They are true rockers!

  • Look I loved these blokes back in the 70's, but here they're just phoning it in. Steve & Andy are just going through the motions. Bloody sad clip.

  • klasse song

  • Puta banda boa,esse som é fodastico.

  • Love that. I had the LP the moveable cardboard piece to make the eye blink

  • video and audio arent synched

  • I used to listen to the whole desolation Boulevard Album everday after school back in grade 8 .This song ain't from DB but it also Rocks , much better than the Def leppard remake .

  • i think sweet and def leppard is same look alike tha is rock on

  • connolly is a fantastic guy, his voice is amazing. <3

  • Like most of the other so called Glam Rock bands, away from Top Of The Pops, all these bands could really rock

  • Sounds a little like Queen - I really like these guys

  • Steve Priest is a GENIUS

  • These guys were 20 years ahead of their time. F**king rock on.

  • steve priest.. my grandad.

  • Fuh u all haven´`T SEEN THAT TIME there are some full better bands

  • masterpiece

  • This way after the chinnichap stuff. They wanted to be a rock band.

  • chinny chap puppets - effing great all the same!

  • I love Sweet. Give Us A Wink was such an under appreciated album. It was heavy!

  • Great band. Great playing, great songwriting and great vocals. What more can you want ? Yes, there are good bands around today too but you have to look to find them and even then they have a long way to go to get to the level these cats were at. Thanks for posting.

  • Amazing, luck because the people likes of this band, the video has many visits, awesome the video!

  • porra esses cara são foda D+

  • YAAAAY! F`kin awsome! Total nostalgia trip! Feeling a bit old now actually, wish i couldnt remember being there, but shit they were the tits!!

  • As BADASS as it gets....these boys kicked fucking ass, and without them there'd never have been a Motley Crue or a million other knock-offs. God Bless Each and Every One of the Sweet lads.

  • Brian Connolly: one of the best rock voices EVER. RIP, man...

  • I want the 70s back. All of it.

  • @peterbilt2004

    I too!!!!

  • @peterbilt2004... your spot on.back then you put the radio on you got sweet,t rex, gary glitter, suzi quatro, slade and so on, put the radio on now you got this fucked up shit they call music...

  • @khuorutstz Fucking well said Kinsman!

  • Man I miss the 70s........

  • In all music videos from that time the audiences always looked half asleep;)

  • @MissWitchiepoo probs stoned!

  • I've seen different crowds but this one was very motiveted I'm really impresed...

esta gente tiene una motivacion que se ven que estan difrutando del grupo musical

  • this is the coolest video since PRISCILLA HIGH FASHION

  • Just listen to Mick's drumming. Then listen to it again. Why; how is he not remembered for this amazing playing? I'm going to listen again. I still can't believe it. We were blase back then. We didn't know what we had.

  • eso era un sonido nuevo para ellos. esos manes estaba adelantados a la epoca con esos ritmos fills tan estridentes!! ke geniall!!

because they are a revolutionary sound for this time..

  • Thats right, they were ahead of their time and they were the milestone for many rock bands.

  • the audience could not appreciate the greatness before them.....so sad

  • flipfloplogic you're dead right! So many vids of the great Sweet performing for stupid people...some of the German shows are unbelievable - especially the audience at the Beer Festival, where the crowd look like they wouldn't know rock music if it slapped them in the face.

  • a great song for a wrong audience hehe

  • Great song from a much underrated legendary band - Brian Connolly best front man ever.

  • First concert I ever went to in sydney, The Sweet supported by andy Gibb!

  • Brian looks a bit pissed off that the audience are not being more responsive?

  • @carmel1956 I think it's appropriate that he should look that way because of the content of the song. However, the audience are a bit gormless. Headbanging had not been invented ,so what can they do but just listen to the song.

  • Def Leppard are second division compared to Sweet. Def Leppard were just "The Mutt Lange Show"

  • Excellent - they have to be one of the best bands from the 70's. thanx for this video

  • These were the original guys, great stuff was the '70s.

Bands try to imitate of recent decades, never beaten

  • Well said..they WERE rock as it WAS then as much as any other band of the 70's.

I used to argue with a friend back then - I told him Queen was trying to steal their sound, he said it was the opposite. But they were similar in many ways.

They belong in the hall of fame as least as much as Aerosmith anyway.

  • @mazakman1957 the harmonies were so similar to queen it was frightening, im a huge queen fan but i will so admit sweet albums here in the states that were available like give us a wink desolation boulevard, off the record were so on par with consistancy even more so in queens releases such as hot space a kind of magic, sweet had a way more powerful yet harmonic sound then queen did it is a shame brian couldnt get his drinking under control

  • *Fangirl squeals* One of my favorite songs! Gah, I love this band so much lol :P

  • i didn't know it's their song so much better than Def Leppard just don't like their sound

  • fuck cheap trick; these guys are rock gods. I don't know many that could stand up to the onslaught!

  • @glencoelad YES- GODS! This is so heavy , and they played for teens...I´m 43 and if I went there with my timemachine I have , I would not care being the oldest guy in the room.,

  • @glencoelad why are we comparing CT with Sweet? shame... both are doners of the world of rock we'll all fall back to because not all corp rock was office pushers making for cliche's back in the 70s. oh, you probably weren't there. pardon my blooper.

  • @glencoelad wow, you couldn't have just said Sweet rocks? Sweet and Cheap Trick both rock. wow, and 37 people gave this comment a thumbs up? i don't know even know what to say to that...someone else want to help me out?

  • brilliant

  • Youtube is great for finding old and great bands like THE SWEET. It reminds me of my teen years running around town in a tiny Honda car with Michael Stipe (he loved Ballroom Blitz and Sweet) the whole glam rock scene before he found punk rock and PattiSmith. The rest is history.

  • Bravo!! ^_^

    ¡¡Acción!! ;)

  • the amount of bands that this band were a an influence to ,i can hear cheap trick in there

  • OHHHHHYEAHHHHH!!!!!!!.....LOVED this album, played it till it had skips galore....and only if you're in my age group, you'll know what I mean!!!....ACES bloody band!!!

  • thanks for ur comment ive been a sweet fan since i was 12 im 49 now and their songs still sound as if they were recorded yesterday great band, the best.

  • I still have this on Vinyl and it don't skip

  • Give Us a Wink is such an underrated album! "Yesterday's Rain", "White Mice", "4th of July" and...well, shit, pretty much the whole album is just great!

  • awsome

  • Reminds me of Junior High School. Great Song.

  • je to super!!!!Moje mladi!!!!

  • fantastic song......who would listen to james blunt after listening to these guys?

  • ha ha... good point!

  • @CADAVERHUSK

Who would listen to James Blunt before listening to these guys?

  • That is some serious early metal! Fantastic!

  • This Sweet v Queen arguement always makes me laugh!..I saw Sweet @ the Variety Club, Spennymoor, Co Durham August 1972 and they were well established and charting....where the hell were Queen? lol

  • Don't remember this one. But yeah ,it does sound a bit like early Queen.

  • Can't tell me Queen didn't listen to these guys.

  • I got a vague idea Roger Daltrey did this; the original?

  • Nonono! You might be thinking of something off his solo LP that Leo Sayer wrote a bunch of songs for. I think it was called Just a Boy, but I could be very wrong.

This LP was the Sweet breaking free of Chapman/Chinnamen (sp?) their managers, who wrote the songs on one side, while the band took the other, much less bubblegum side.

I guess they were a kind of boy band at first, like the Bay City Rollers.

  • No - this is an original by Sweet, written by Sweet and was the follow up to Fox on the Run... Daltrey and the Who very much liked Sweet's work and they used to party together at times. Def Leppard did a great cover of this in the early to mid 80's

  • Nope, wrong, this is an original Sweet composition. Awesome!

  • the drummer is seriousley a pease of the action . i love it

  • Black N Blue did a cover also. I never knew it was a cover. Huh... cool song.
