Also, how do you get those trills/patterns to sound so smooth? Just by lots of practice, or are there other exercises that help?

That was great! I am trying to learn this piece....Am I the only one who loses track of counting on that long trill-like part near the end? Do you count, or guess at how long it goes? I guess most people couldn't tell even if you were a beat or two off.
