  • chuck noris has a bite force of 5,583.987656789

  • Um no offense but you like many others keep over using that 691 figure that has already been proven to come from an immature lion(NOT fully grown)

  • but when lion and a tiger fight in the wild not in the cage the lion would simply win because lions are more expirienced fighter than a tiger because a tiger use only stealth.

  • i have an american rottie you fool!

  • this guy is racist against lions!!!!!! lol

  • Tiger has a broader skull and a higher bite force because of the Jaw structure. I thought the Tigers were recorded at 1000lbs and the Lions 750lbs? hmmm I could be wrong.

  • UFC's Cain Velasquez: 2230lbs

  • he's right, everyone

who needs discovery channel when some guy off the internet has all the answers? and of course, they are supported by empirical evidence and are not biased at all

    please do another video!

  • I read more in this video than my first year of university.

  • lol u say discovery channel is biased ...aren't u ?

  • I like turtles.

  • @gravity5

originally artificially engineered in germany, but thousands or rotties are bred in america now. if i'm ethically chinese, but i was born in america, it still makes me an american.

  • There is a scientifically measure of about 700 pounds for Lion/Tiger at the canines. Of course, if the force is taken at the molars then the obtained figures are much higher.

  • Uh, GuyRoss, you keep talking about "lame videos" that offer "no science" but that's the category that your own video falls into. I see no scientific documentation to support your claims. You offer only your unsubstantiated assertion that the structure of a lion's jaw is thinner than that of the tiger. I don't believe this to be true. If you want to convince me, how about offering some data based upon skull measurements of the two species?

  • youre forgetting the point with this video. There are advantages to having a stronger bite force and there are disadvantages. The broad jaws that allow tigers to have a strong bite force are less stress resistant than a lion's. But since lions have a weaker bite force they have much greater stress resistance to their jaws. What does that mean? Basically it means lions are more capable at bringing down larger prey. Theres a reason why tigers usually hunt not that large of prey, because they cant.

  • It definitely depends on the animal. Not all tigers/lions/hyenas have the same bite force. :)

  • Instead of yakking, show the goddamn video of the animal biting on something!

  • koran say allllllllll nonmozlin r animals.

  • a turtle has a bigger biteforce..wtf?

  • @18PANA Alligator Snapping Turtles are beasts.

  • The lion that they used was not fully grown.

  • You're an idiot

  • @gravity5 "German Rottweiler vs. American Rottweiler - some claim there are variations of Rotties, the German Rottweiler and the American Rottweiler. German Rotties are said to be shorter, stockier and have a bigger blockier head, and American Rotties are said to be taller and leggier without as blocky a head."

The breed actually changed a little in the US. Germans, however, did create the breed so I kinda think that the notion is BS.

PS, grizzly bear could kill all these things.

  • fuck off tiger is shit!!!! cuz dats not fair testing 1year old hyena get a full grown 1 then will see boo!!!!!!

  • The hyenas bite force is mis measured. They've smaller jaw muscles than lions and no reason to bite harder in nature. Bet those who say it, like to screw hyenas in their butt holes.

  • @gravity5 almost all these dogs r from germany their names r like NAZIS...........LOL

  • Honestly, bite force after 500 lbs does not even matter with most of the carnivorous animals. Their teeth are so sharp that the force exerted on the surface area of bite is immense. Someone mentioned a great white shark. Their teeth come to a needle point sharpness. Imagine getting a vaccine shot in your arm with 500 lbs behind the needle.

  • @USGiorgi they do matter thats why a lion does not treat a hyena like ur pet dog.........and whaTs all these bs u r saying about sharp teeth............c mon we know u r a lion fan looking for lame excuses.................truth is lions cant bite

  • I actually hate cats. I'm more of a dog person so that makes me into a wolf fan. I am just pointing out the fact that a 500 lb bite is perfectly strong enough for any task when the force is applied to such a small surface area.

  • kangal dogs get more than a lion

  • @gravity5 it depends on where its born...duh

  • lol arent you a tiger lover, but why do you have to put lions down to prove your point.....i bet you have seen lion king in nyc and probably cried to you mommy to be like simba...lmao, go suck on your thumb

  • hyenas can get 1500

  • Comment removed

  • I just viewed on shark week that bull sharks and great whites have bite forces of 2 tons...

  • great whites have a bite force of 669....

  • Its not just the bite force that proves who the strongest of the two are. Male Tigers aren't born and built to fight other male tigers. Male Lions, however, are built with a thick mane to protect the neck and make them appear bigger and are born to protect their pride and fight and even kill other male lions. so the male lion is the better fighter, regardless of bite force, because it knows where the vital spots are on other males and other things

  • what a load of bollocks you have written there

  • How is it bollocks considering its all true.Just sounds like you're another dumb ass tiger lover that can't accept the true facts

  • actually, I am not a tiger lover. The fact is: a lone Tiger can kill a lone male tiger. Tigers/ Tigress actually fight more than male lions, the myth about how lions fight more is well a myth. male Lions spend the first 4 years of their lives learning how to fight, then they fight every now and then to defend their prides. Tigers fight with bears, wolves, wild dogs, their own invading rivals on a constant basis from the day they leave their moms til the day they die. Check it out on NatGeo

  • I didn't say that male lions fought more,I said that they are designed to fight, which is true. Tigers are sexually dismorphic and lions aren't because they ARE required to fight more, thats what the thick mane and strong build is for.And correct me if I'm wrong but, don't tigers live solitary lives? Which would mean they don't have a pride to protect? Thats what I'm saying,Lions are required to be strong to protect an entire pride of their own

  • All lions, regardless male and female, are naturally designed to hunt in groups, therefore, their canine teeth, their muscle power (both of which are essential for fighting) are less than tigers who hunt alone. The thick mane comes to nothing as Tiger's bite force is enough to crush an Elaphants neck, I really think it's like slicing a thin paper. Lions are required to be strong ENOUGH to protect their prides. A tiger are required to be strong ENOUGH to fight off Bears, Wolves, Elephants etc.

  • Thats not entirely true. A males thick build makes it hard for him to hunt,as a female is built for speed and power. The males with only hunt if its a group of nomads. And like I said, bite force doesn't always mean they will be the victor. I agree that tigers aren't big like a male lion so they could probably land in a good bite and some hits, but power wise,I still think the male lion will come out on top.I've seen nomad males take down elephants and giraffes.

  • Tigers are bigger than lions (African Lions < Siberian Tigers, Asiatic Lions < Bengal Tigers). Yeah, with those kinds of strength, it's down to who gets who first. But on paper a tiger wins hands down. I have seen a German Shephard killing a European Gray Wolf before, but on generaly we all know unless you have massive dogs like English Mastiff, King size shephard, Tamaskan and Kangal dogs etc.... dogs would always almost certain get raped by wolves. Similar story applies here in this case.

  • @manutd1968 In Such fights the winner wil be the one who is willing to dominate his opponent. Mostly the fight will not end in death, the loser will submit and the winner was the dominant one.

  • Also, Male Lions fighting style is to knock its opponents out with 1 punch, they all do that. A Tigers tend throw weaker punches at lightning speed. You can actually look up on Youtube, Lions fighting style is completely ineffective against tigers becos given both their strengths, I firmly believe that if they do fight, the tiger would throw enough punches at the lion before the lion can even throw 1 back to force the lion to submitt

  • The Lions fighting style is different.not ineffective. A lion is built to absorb the supposedly "Fast but weak" blows. So if they did absorb them and then hit a couple of strong hits on the tiger, who do you think would come out victorious? And as for the Lion VS Tiger debate in general, there is no way to prove either side right. Yes,people have forced tigers and lions together, but in the wild they would never encounter each other,so its impossible to test the possibility of a fight

  • A comparison between a tiger's punch and a lion's bunch was done before, on bbc wildlife some years ago, a lion's punch tend to be 40% stronger than that of a tiger. Asumming this is true, a tiger can land 4 punches before a lion even raises its arm. I think the lion would submitt, because it (the tiger's punches) really does hurt the lion

  • As much as I hate to point this out, usually documentaries are Lion biased,so that may be true or not. I'm just going by what I've studied and what I've seen. But again,as you said, those 4 punches compared to that one hit would probably have the same power. Its not about it hurting the lion, its that the lion can take alot because thats how its body is built. Its built to fight other male lions, not male tigers, which is why I think all the videos of them fighting each other is ridiculus

  • I do believe it, cos I saw a clip somewhere, it took a tigress 8 punches to force the male African lion to submitt before the lion was severely injured by 2 more punches from another tigress. From the same video, a fight between 2 male lions saw that 1 male lion knocked out the other 1 with 4 punches (3 if you count the 2 handed punch as 1)

  • Yes,but would you believe it if the male lions dominated every single fight? Of course not. Like I said, you can't just put two different animals together, who would never ever meet in the wild, and expect for a fair fight to come out of it. Obviously the tiger wouldn't know where to bite and hit the lion, and the lion wouldn't know where it should bite and hit the tiger. They would just go by what they both know, which are two different survival tactics

  • Lions and Tigers tend to live peacefully if they are kept captive since birth. The clips you and I see on youtube are filmed from a zoo somewhere from Korea, and those big cats are captive animals. They fight very violently ocassionally, but I don't think captive big cats will fight to the death unless either one of them or both are aggrevated so badly

  • Regardless of whether they live peacfully, they aren't supposed to.There is no reason to put a tiger and a lion together unless someone is looking for money for publicity or to play god. They should be by themselves, which is why to me,there will never be proof of who would win

  • @manutd1968 No, not right at all. I agree with you, the tigers Punch is weaker, but faster than a Lions Punch. But 4 Punches before the Lion raises its arm, do you know how fast that would be?! Lions Punch are fast too, but the Tiger is faster, maybe 2times faster.

  • As for the hyeana's the confusing thing about this is documentry's i've seen have said the hyeana has the strongest jaw's of any mammal and then i see this and even the tiger's and jaguar's have a stronger bite then the hyeana so this must be a load of crap they should test a hyeana when it's crunching through an elephant's skull to get the true reading it'll probably bite straight through that thing they use to test it.

  • I saw this program and it didn't bother getting the reading of the animal's properly they had two male lion's on this show one of them was young and just got a quick bite the other one spent all of it's time licking the the meat so in the end they went for the young lion that just went for a quick bite of the meat also study's show that lion's and tiger's have skull's so alike even some scientist's have difficulty telling them appart and there bite force is more or less the same.

  • The lion and the tiger have the same skull. I'm sure somone has already pointed this out to this nit whit. Lions are not like canines at all!! The difference is minute and has to do with the cranial sutures. Keep dreaming.

  • not really, Lions jaws are more flat than those of tigers and tigers canine teeth are longer than those of lions

  • To sum it all up - the tiger bites about 20% harder than the lion (providing they're the same weight). As I've never come upon the figures presented by the video poster in my research I draw the conclusion that they are bogus. Tigers do bite harder than lions - as shown in every test undertaken, but making up propostrous figures (as done by video poster) serves no purpose and is counter-productive.

  • Are you even thinking?Every cat expert will tellyou that lions bite is 900-1100psi.

  • Pounds. Not pounds-per-square inch. PSI is a pressure unit. According to my knowing bite pressure has never been measured, so we're talking bite force here. In the only scientifically trustworthy test I've came across the Lion tested by them produced ~694 pounds of force at a bodyweight of 294.6 kg (650 lbs) giving it a bite force quotient (BFQ) of 118. The tiger scored ~627 pounds of force at a BW of 412 lbs giving it a BFQ of 140.

  • are u fucked up ure making it sound like the lion is payin the discovery channell ohhh this is a massive scandal it must be stopped ;p

  • this video is pirated..

  • its very veyr hard to prove the bite froce froma lion cus they doesent use the bite force to kill the use the strangulation where they doesent use the hole force. tiger kills with the force breaking the animals neck

  • ...do you really believe those records of the bite force of tigers is reliable?....a tiger`s bite force has never been measured, only estimated. but, frank mendell has told me (via email) that he will try and measured the bite force of a tiger, this month, and that he will have numbers by march. i`ll email him on the 1st for any info......and proof.

  • ..the great white doesn`t have the greater bite force. brady barr measured a great white with a bite force of 669 lbs, while that of a lion was 691 lbs. in another test, a lion had a bite force of 940 lbs.

  • LOL. You completely forgot about other measurements of lion's bite, which is about 900 lbs. And I am not even telling that you didn't give any proof for tiger's bite.

P.S. It's funny: real measurements show 600 lbs for hyena, so where did they get 1000?

  • ...a tiger`s bite force has never been measured, only estimated. but the lion has been measured with a bite force of 691 - 940 lbs. the hyena, with a bite force of 1000 - 2025 lbs.....i do have the studies....if you want to see them.

  • that s so strange, national geographic claims that the building structure of lions and tiger are verry similar??? would it be the same national geographic ??? i wonder ...

  • very interesting

  • nice videos, truly shows that lions are weaker than tigers

  • @xfarazx lol, Any lion would give a tiger a run for its money. Half the time even come out on top.

  • @legolas3157 You're right. Lions are buolt for fighting that's in their DNA, fight, fuck, and eat. They can afford to get hurt, as the pack can still hunt for him. Tigers don't have that luxury.

  • okay... how about telling us where u got ur info from? I understand that u said in the video that TV shows are biased, but how do i know that you are not the one whose biased? Im afraid that taking your word for it is not good enough, best to show us some proof.

  • This is BS! Lions do hunt and hyenas feed on death... tigers do the same... I do not see a piece of stick exciting a lion and making him unleash his full power. These videos are all BS! Period!
