I was speaking more in a future sense as in future generations looking back & on a larger scale forming a more mythological view of what has transpired & matching that to the ancient myths of how the Goddess was abducted/volunteered, depending on what apeals to you, into the underworld. Not trying to detract from any of the atrocities that has been done and yes, depending on which culture you are focusing on, the time frame varies as to whose been more patriarchial for how long. :) Blessings.

@HeathenCub Patriarchy has been here for more than a few thousand years..long before Christianity, long before Judaism. The difference is, Goddess worship was prevalent and welcomed and performed by patriarchal leaders

Maybe the times past of the abscence of the Goddess is like the story of Persephone (sp) when She was taken into the Underworld and now is the time when the Goddess returns to bring back the world to life again. :) That maybe will be the myth that grows around her return for future generations who learn about these past 2000 to 3000 years where Her presence was diminished!
