  • wow dude ! posters on the wall, shirt, guitar : you rock !!!! Nice playing !!!

  • Hi, I read that you equiped your guitar wth texmex pickups. Did you try another brands/types like SSL-1, Pearly Gates Plus? Im asking because Im thinking buy a guitar that has the texmex pickups and I dont know tese pickups are right to play the kind of music I want. I like bon jovi, van halen, lynch mob, pink floyd too. I liked very much the sound that you made. But can you give me a suggestion about that? I would like to buy a guitar and dont change the pickups.... (at least, so early)

  • @Mek3001 You won't be disappointed. TexMex are pretty good for these kind of music. Good luck! Cheers!

  • amazing, man

  • Hey you seem pretty good at guitar. Anyways i was wondering what kind of affects you are using. I'm looking to get effects processor or whatever and i was wondering what a good one is for around 150 bucks? thanks

  • Fantastic job. :)

I'm personally not up to that kind of playing yet. But I look forward to it. The nice thing is being able to play and have fun. Improvement can be had over time. Keep on rockin'!

  • Watch out with the tempos.

    Greetings from Argentina !

  • I LOVE your shirt, Guitar, and back poster!

  • You really have your pinch harmonics down. I still can't always get that first note to scream.

  • Beautifull

  • DUDE... SHIVERS!

  • theres only one hard thing about this solo the timing (y)

  • good effort lad

  • wow awesome harmonix for single coils

  • what amp?

  • what model of stratocaster is that?

  • @davidtheguitarman 60th anniversary edition with tex mex pickups. Cheers!

  • Sweet dude! David would be proud if he saw that prestige-act thought.

  • ...and he has a very similar guitar as david gilmour good

  • @Florcitax It is similar in color, nothing else. Cheers!

  • @jchris4444 well its a strat, so you can say its similar, if it was a les paul you wouldnt.

  • @Florcitax he has EMG on his red strat.

  • My fav guitar

  • GREAT job.

love the pink floyd paraphernilia you got lying around

  • ivo u need to shup up...

David isnt just a avarage player...

i dont like people who say that.

  • very nice but please 1 comment when you do the bridge part in the solo when you go throu the hole pentatonic scale please practice that its simple but you have some weard tabs for it try to find some simple tabs beacuse david gilmour allso is a simple guitar player

  • Excellently played, but just one point:

when you hear a Floyd solo you need it real loud in the mix. David Gilmore uses a huge guitar sound, maybe it's double tracked etc. That is arguably his trade-mark sound.

It's a massive sound, and it's right on top of the mix eg. hear the solos on Animals, and the Turning Away etc etc..

  • @Guevaristas His solos are not double tracked... they are double tracked in the sense of they usually had a rhythm guitar track underneath the solo track. Floyd usually recorded the four members on one "rhythm" track, and then dubbed solos, other sounds, etc. over top of that track.

What you may be thinking of "doubling" as, is Dave's awesome use of delay on his solos. This is what gives them that, thick, "wall of sound" characteristic. Not doubling the solos.

The only time this was done...

  • @Guevaristas was when the solo on "Money" was spliced in twice to give a very pronounced slap-back effect for delay, that a Benson echo-unit wouldn't have produced so clearly.

  • Well done! The mexican strat is a great value guitar!

  • love the tshirt :)

  • Yeah!!!!! Nice t-shirt XD

I'd like to get another one like it :p

  • Bravo .. grande suono !!!!! ^_^

  • Good one dude! Play on !

  • Very nice

  • beautiful solo and a pretty nice shirt :D

  • nice solo.... wish i was that good..... im workin on this solo now, when i have it ill post a response, look for the squier 51 and youll see mine

  • OK>>>> NEW PLAN... i modified my Squier strat into a half assed replica of gilmours guitar, so ill make one with the strat and one with the 51.... BTW>>>> MY COVER OF THE FIRST SOLO IS UP

  • llol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats real good man,

how long have you been playing?

btw that is one sexy strat

  • are you a pink floyd fan?

  • I used to be a huge fan of Pink Floyd. Recently, I listen to their music from time to time. Cheers!

  • @sportsportsport u think? *shakes head*

  • Amazing tone!

    how do you get it?

only the gt-3? or what amp are u using?

  • @jpadif Yeap, only with gt-3 and Kustom Arrow 16DFX. Thanks! Cheers!

  • Wow thats really really good :P

  • i love that you didnt try and play it note for note like everyone else. you give you're guitar its own voice...make it sing, and thats how it should be.

  • @FireBattleInMetal Huge thanks! Your words are the kindest words from all comments so far! You have found exact point of view as mine. Cheers!

  • Not bad.

I love the tone on that. Awesome.

  • @slash112solo Thanks!

  • Fantastic job

  • @skintrade01 :)

  • oh when did gilmour record this?? lollollollol oh... never lololololol

  • i was watching some other solos and there realy crap dude u got talent

  • nice job, nice fender GG...

  • @2599snake do you know what? i has just bought that same guitar it's very nice:)

  • Awesome cover mate, nice sound! Could you check my version out though please mate? Could really do with some feedback. Thanks for your time, keep it up!

  • nice one! keep it up man :D

just a thought on the comments about reducing delay, im also a self-proclaimed delay addict, it just makes solos sound good.

maybe you could try reducing the delay timer, but reducing the decay as well, so you have a tighter sounding delay that has that stronger character of a nice, long delay.

    just my 2 cents :)

  • Thanks! I will take your thoughts into consideration. Cheers!

  • Hi, I have bought a BOSS DD3.

Can you give me some advices about the setting of the delay for this solo please?

  • Great T shirt, less delay!, overall very presentable, good quality choice of music. Good on ya!

  • i'm italian the my english isn't complete because i'm 13 years old.i play guitar by three age and i'll buy at my birthday a fender stratocaster american deluxe!!!how about you? anyway the song is wonderful

  • I would go for it - good choice. Btw, your english is pretty good :) Ciao!

  • It was great dude! Keep on Praticing ;)

  • really good , but put a little less delay , it will be better ! D: , butt u rockd

  • how long have u been playing

    ??

  • I was then during my second year.

  • True, but I love delay, that is the reason of overriding that ;)

  • man u rock u have inspired me to play more i kinda got bored of playing but u have realy made me wanna become better and maby better then u some day

  • Thanks! Remember - practice makes perfect! Good luck! Cheers man!

  • very good man!

  • dont let arseholes put you down it sounds good keep practicing

  • Thanks! All kind of comments are always welcome. Cheers!

  • Чувак!!! Молодец, супер игра!

    Respect from Rus:)

  • Thanks :)

  • sounds like you sayin you "changed" a couple parts means you couldn't play them

  • Maybe. I repeat - I was then at the very beginning with my guitar playing. Cheers!

  • im not gonna ask for the tabs,

because im not a lazy ass like everybody else,

If you want tabs its so fuckin simple to google them. Why are people so stupid!!!!

    But one question,

Did you learn this bye using tabs,

or did you learn the original and them simplify it.

    not saying it sucks,

because that was a great solo cover.

    but just a question

    see ya, mike

  • I usually play different solos in my way. Cheers!

  • Im not saying they are not good. It sounded great and the best for the price. But when it comes to American vs Mexican got to go with the American. But your guitar sounded pretty dang good

  • That was good but you got to have that American Stratocaster

  • I do not agree. Nowadays Mexican ones are very good too. Cheers!

  • hey cool sound!

    good job dude

    5*

  • I love this great. I am attempting to figure out the wall version where there are two guitarists playing different sections of it look it up its AWESOME:).

  • David would be proud of the new axe. Pretty nice cover. gigida

  • 0_0 greeeeeeeeeat!

  • It needs work but keep working and you will get it. Also this solo is played on the bridge pickup.

  • In other words you want me to play exact solo. So, good luck but I promise you that I will never do that. Cheers!

  • That is not what I meant. What I was saying is you will get the timing and more feel for the phrasing becuase same of the sections feel a bit rushed.

I am all for improvising and making it your own but you need to work on it.

No offence intended at all. Good Luck.

  • Well, as far as I remember I was then during my first year of learning playing guitar in general. Nowadays my playing has changed but I don't know if there is any of your expectancy at all. You are welcome to my channel. Cheers!

  • you are not good enough to copy dave gilmore songs and i dont no why youve put this on youtube, dont listen to the people who tell you it sounds o.k because there talking shit just to be nice, i suggest you go back to basics and play to a m/nome this will sort out your bad timing, and work on your bends because they sound so shit and your fingers look so weak, tell me when youve done what ive said and i will give you more to learn

  • your a prick for saying that, granted this guy needs to refine his playing, but he is learning it and one day might crack it. but how dare you say "tell me when youve done what ive said i will give you more to learn"..

  • @davidgilmour1234 learning the hard way is the best way!! i'm much happier having figured this out on my electric violin for myself, because it's so incredibly rewarding the first time you pull it off!! after playing it through at a satisfactory level, i played and replayed it for 2 hours because i was in a complete zone of my own!!

  • You are not qualified to talk about Gilmour since you can't even spell his name, so no one is going to take advice from you. Have a nice day!

  • fucking a floyd !!sounds cool. love them in concert.

  • all i can say is just play your own solo because every time you copy someone else it will sound shit and know one will enjoy it, i know what i'm talking about, i'm a fantastic guitarist and can always pull out all the stops at my gigs

  • ''I'm a fantastic guitarist''

LOL :D Heh you sure have a high self esteem.

  • Nice playing =)

  • why you copying him then, do your own solo, anyone can copy someone else and it will always sound shit because its a copy, the best guitarist in the world could cover this song and it would still sound shit because its not dave gilmore playing it, you need to grow up and be counted

  • As you can see this is not a copy. I play my own version, that what I do on each cover. And I think you don't get the mission of the youtube... What about coping Comfortably Numb by Johne Petrucci? I would not treat it as copy, though. Consider that even David Gilmour plays every time a slightly different version. Cheers!

  • Hey mate. Good playing. I really enjoyed it a lot . One say play it like the original, other says be yourself and make own solo. They are fools. You grinded it well and surely enjoyed it. Good work!!!

  • No body is a fool. Everybody has its own idea. Thank you for your comment. Cheers!

  • What you perceive as a "copy", is simply playing a bloody solo out of respect for the song. Becoming a good guitarist needs this kind of practice. You need to grow up.. cos it was very well played and did justice to the song.

  • Yeah, I am not David Gilmour...

  • nice sounding strato! , i have recently got a 92´ standard , you can check how it sounds , i´ll post a video response , greetings from argentina!

  • Thanks! I will. Cheers!

  • very nice!!! excelent!!

  • very nice !!!!!!!

    greatings from Germany dkcpr

  • David wud b proud :)

  • huuuum, those bends were great... Nice cover :D

  • Thanks! Believe me or not, but I find bends the easiest part. I dream about great speed. Cheers!

  • Yeah, but they are all in tune... :D thats great!

  • Thanks :)

  • you can find a really good cover about comfortably numb in this user name:

i014720 they are real good band. "switcher master" is the band name. please check.

  • Thanks! Cheers!

  • Very good. Keep practicing. I'd like the same t-shirt :)

  • damn close man........keep practicing...its one of rocks all time classic tunes......and yes your on the verge of kicckin ass!

  • Well, I didn't want it to very close as the album version goes. I always put something that differ from the original. Check my other videos and you will find that all my vids are not the copies of the art of some great guitarists. Cheers!

  • very nice job, keep up the good work

  • Good playing, I like your wall posters :)

  • What amp?

  • Dude, That rocks man i know how hard that is too play. You right its good to be different although the original is perfection...Keep it up

  • I'm willing to bet this guy isn't a pink floyd fan lol

    jkjk

my room's gonna look almost the same when I'm all moved out lol

  • u should have played it right, it would have sounded better , on that beautiful guitar

  • hey whats sounds are you using it sounds amazing i would pay to see you play

  • Have fun and keep ROCKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah but somtimes the point of this sort of thing isnt to get it spot on to how the real song sounds, that would be boring, it always sounds better if its a little different.

  • So that why I made it different :)

  • Comment removed

  • I know, i was just carrying on andybaum93s comment

  • guess i should have clicked reply....o well

  • Awesome sound! Great playing! =)

  • not critisizing but u might want to listen to the song a little closer cuz i can play this too and change a couple of things because u can definitely tell its different thn the song. other than that good job!

    (i have that shirt)

  • How did you get that sounds man ??

  • Well, I was asked that many times. It is nothing special. I had the Boss GT-3 in my rig and a small practice amp Kustom Arrow16. Nowadays I use Ibanez DS-7 instead of Boss (multieffects are welcome only on recording sessions) and Ibanez instead of Fender. Cheers!

  • Thanks mate!

  • le falta delay pero esta chido

  • The strat and your playings are just perfect !!! Hope that u will post more videos with you straty ;-)

  • Well, I suppose that my words will disappoint you now 'cause I have sold my strat. I have bought Ibanez S670FM instead. I find this guitar much better than my previous Gibson SG and the Strat. Anyway, thanks for your comment. Cheers!

  • oh really u find it better?...id have to check it out for sure then

  • holy crap, awesome dude!

    nice T-shirt

  • Nice effort man, finger vibrato sounds better, Gilmore has a sweet sweet finger vibrato. A mix of whammy and finger is the way to go, master them both :)

  • a lil sloppy but good

  • awesome.. Great vibrato and thats some of the sweetest pinch harmonics i have heard...

  • I like it, very nice.

Ya know what, I have the EXACT same T_shirt and Poster for Dark Side too.
