In fact, last winter at the Jackson Hole Elk Reserve -- where 100s of thousands of elk winter together, essentially being lunch on the hoof -- the sled driver told me personally he had only seen one wolf on the edge of the reserve, and no kills last winter (2007-08). Nor have any local ranchers reported wolf hamstringing cattle -- and we are 3 hours from Yellowstone. Without Starbucks.
Good for Wyoming, not so in Montana & Idaho, our family are outfitters & forrest service employees, Wolves are playing havoc on the wildlife population. If I were capable of doing so I would post on here actual photos of the result of over population of wolves.
