I have duel Labrum Hip Tears after my rear ended auto accident. I have No Fault, NJ auto insurance. I was informed by several orthopedics to head to Hospital Special Surgeons for Anthrscopic Hip Surgery for both right and left hips. I would like to know your thoughts on HSS in NYC, Please get back to me
@detox96 Although HSS in NYC has a good reputation, I think you should chose a surgeon and not a hospital. The best way to choose a surgeon is a referral from a physician or knowledgeable medical professional that you trust. Best Wishes.
Hip arthroscopy is really only successful when hip pain is associated with minor tissue damage to joints. As soon as it is more than a simple problem, arthroscopy is no longer useful and an open approach should be considered.I know from first hand experience as I had this procedure done on my hip. Recovery was rapid but results not successful.
I had an arthroscopic surgery on my hip for a detached labrum and tears. My hip was slipping in and out at the site of the tear. It was very successful with almost no lost time from work and good reduction in pain...I guess it depends on what the problem is, but I would say mine wasn't really just minor soft tissue damage.
