  • Muito bonita sua atitude

  • Nothing racism at the end. It's funny:)

  • "I know Kung Fu"

WOW. racism in an international adoption - what a unique and isolated case. NOT. (tragically)

  • I already have three children, but I am going to China one day and any other country that has children in need of a family. My mother has 10 children and I will protect ANY child that needs a family. I will take in ANY child. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!!!

  • it is true that in some part of china we have cultural preference to boys other than girls to carry family name or to have reliable working force to support family traditionally. Things are much better now. I am a Chinese boy, while my father always want to adopt a girl if possible. Shame on those parents who abandon their baby girls.

  • Bless you and your adorable little Sophie :)

  • OOhhh...That make my heart go painful!

  • i have the utmost respect for you guys. i know that when i am ready to have children i will adopt one from china

  • Why all foreign adopter want a Chinese girl other than a boy.

  • This is a wonderful video. Than you for sharing this with the world. I've spent the past year volunteering in the Luoyang (Henan Province, China) orphanage, which is full of 600 wonderful boys and girls. Despite the fact that most Chinese orphanages are generally mainly girls, Luoyang Orphanage actually has more boys. They're wonderful kids, and I'm hoping that many of them will be able to find great homes like your precious Sophie.

  • I am a chinese girl and it is strange to me cuz I have never encountered anyone that dislike girls or abondand their own child because it is a girl.

  • well i guess the blame goes to chinese government for 1 child policy... so everyone wants a boy to carry the family name.... which is sad :(

  • God has blessed my family with two sisters that are adopted from China. One is from Louyang and the other one, we are getting next month, is from Guiyang... It is wonderful that people are able to share their adventures on this site.

  • Does anyone know the name of the haunting song at the beginning of the video clip?

  • When The Rain Comes by Third Day

  • Thanks for the reply. I was actually wondering about the instrumental piece at the very beginning of the video, where the introductory words are....

  • as a chinese, i have to say thank you so much for giving her a bright future, god bless you all

  • of course the children has emotional problems,to have your mother leave you at such a young ago.Racism v.s growing up in a children's home, no family to call your own, makes racism seem like a small problem

  • I want to point out something you regarded as fact: although China has a "one child policy", in many ways, it is not truly enforced especially in recent years. ethnic minorities and many rural citizens are exempted from the one child policy.

  • milktegirl: well for my mom's friend she has a second child in china a baby girl ( thanks god they kept her) but they had to pay a high fin that made them go broke, the father had to close his business and started to have depession . every year my parents send them money

  • This is true, but it doesn't effect the hundreds of thousands in te cities that aren't exempt. Also, for such a extreme policy, why doesn't China have a legal method to give these children up for adoption? It is illegal so all these children must be abandoned on the street, in a field, etc.

Also, there are tons of children born with cleft palate, club foot, etc. who are also abandoned, including TONS of boys.

  • Well I would take any one of those children, no matter boy or girl. I can not stand to see a CHILD suffering! I will do that someday soon. I praise all the families that take in children. I only feel guilty that I could not take them ALL in. NO child should ever be carried in utero and then abandoned, we are all HUMAN BEINGS HERE!!!!!!

  • god bless u all

---from a mengo chinese in ca

    although im not christrin

  • this is so touching what u have done, may god bless you. as a chinese girl myself i feel very happi that people out there do actuly care.this vid touhes my heart and shows that der is good out there, something that i was doubting these days.thank u for adopting such a beautiful lil girl and givin her the chance to live a happi life and have a family.

  • God Bless U

  • god bless you all..I just have to see this again

  • Ahhh damn I got misty-eyed! A very beautiful video and congratulations.

  • feel so warm now!

    good video, good people.

  • My sons name is Kai...she is sooooo cute

  • It is so sweet to have girls! -- I am a father of two girls. Whenever I saw the adopting kids, it makes my eyes full of tears. They are just like my daughters. Thanks for adopting the Chinese girl and taking care of her!

  • she is so cute. poor chineese girls, that is unfair

  • ur video is truly inspiring... i am a 28 yr old woman, i am single but very hard working and responsible. i have a home ans a business. i been thinking for a couple yrs now of adopting a baby. i would provide the baby with everything she or he needs specially lots and lots of love...was is hard to adopt a baby?

  • the process takes very long and unfortunately rules are toughinc up..not too happy china...but thank you anyway for even thinking about adopting

  • Wonderful Video! Our daughter is now almost 9, adopted at 13 months. She is the joy of ourlives. I hope if any Chinese birthmothers see this video, it will help them heal a little by knowing how much love their baby girls are receiving in thier adoptive homes.

  • anyway, wanna say thank you to these that love truely love these babies and take good care of them.

and once again, as chinese, let's do something, too!!!

  • and as a chinese, these vedios drive me to think what we can do and what we should do to bring a little change for this babies. and what's the government's obligation to protect this babies, by which i don't mean that we should stop them from being adopted by foreigners, but that we should go all out to make sure that the babies are being raised in a best way.

  • i know thare were also some negative report that some babies were abused by their adopting parents, but we always hope that this love for child will never fade, becourse the first moment you took them in your arms, you were giving you promise of love to them too.

  • i am a chinese girl from rural area and my parents don't have a preference for boy. i did'n pay alot of attention on this issue before i watch these vedios. most chinese don't realize how serious the problem is , and the government never pay enough attention to deal with thie abandoned baby girl problem.

on being adopted by foreigners, i believe it really bring the babies hope change their life. from this vedios i am convinced that the parents love these babies.

  • 真有点感动...........

  • Beautiful. It brought back so many memories. Our Huazhou wonder, Meredith Grace Xiaole, turned 11 last May. This September, my sister will get her referral for her second child from China. I never forget what a miracle it is.

  • my sister is 2 years older than me~ the govt doesn't allow people to have second child. they are almost killer! the only difference between they and killers is they kill the child that is not born. my parents must kill my sister, before she is known by someone. of couse, they can not,so they abandoned sister. it seems they do not have baby. i become first child. i knew the truth by accident, when i was nearly a man.i was shocked of couse. my parents still love her.

    my family is unbreakable!

  • @tillx7 fuck you

  • omg that was the sweetest video ever! she is so adorable and cute! people like you guys are so amazing

  • im a chinese, preference for boys is only happened in rural china. Ppl in urban areas as well as young generations don't care whether boys or girls. Personally I prefer girls and I will be a good father.China is very complicated, different areas in china has huge culture differences. over 70% chinese don't care what kids they have, 30% may want boys, but dats still a large population becoz we have 1.3 billion people. anyway, thanx for your kindness. chinese people appreciate what you have done!

  • tings like these often happen around me ~

i'm a chinese boy,my sister was almost abandoned by my parents...

can you understand???? i have a special feeling for this...........

  • She's your little angel!

Adoption always appealed to me and China was one of the places I considered most - now I know I definitely want to adopt.

That made me cry so much at how now Sophie has a chance for a better life than she could ever have had in an orphanage in China. She's as lucky to have you as you are to have her.

    xxx

  • Ohhhh I love this video..what a lovely family. We adopted our daughter from Korea, almost 22 yrs ago..Thanks for sharing..

  • China's 1 child policy has negatives, but I feel sorry about these parents who abandon their babies, its the gift from god.

  • This video truly touched me. Im almost 15 years old and I know that God has a plan for me to adopt. I've wanted to since I was really young. I want to feel the joy of saving a life. I would love to experience the thrill and anxiousness of waiting on that airplane and waiting room. Someday if and when I do adopt, I hope to share it with you all. =) God Bless

  • a Touching footage, God bless you.

She was chosen to be adopted. Think about that, her whole life is going to be totally different with the adoption. What are about others? Many orphants or unwanted children in this world need to be loved. What can we do for them?

  • This is a nice video worth to se i am adopted

from Korea my self this video is well done

  • Great video! God bless you!

  • my parents are from Guangdong, and I appreciate you posting how 'normal' folk live. cute kids too. :)

  • GOD BLESS YOU!!AMIN!!

  • A beautiful and poignant story. I recently came back on vacation from China. I stayed at the White Swan Hotel and noticed many girls being adopted by foreigners. God bless the wonderful folks who care for these little precious ones. Thank you for sharing your video and love for all to witness. I cried when I read Psalm 12:5. Hope the best for your family!

  • it is kind for these people adopt chinese children!!!think about these children they need love, also think if you are one of them, what do you want?

  • what a nice and beautiful girl! She did not even cry meeting so many strangers. She also rarely smiles. Must have suffered a lot of emotionally, being without a mother. A miserable but fortunate child. Hope she will be hapy from now on.

  • I've seen lots of adoption videos, and the babies rarely smile at first. I think more than the suffering (they usually get good care) it's because of culture, the Chinese aren't as outward with their emotions as us. That's what the babies learn, so until they adapt, they aren't as smiley.

  • Toching. Thank you. Bless your family. Bless American and Chinese. Bless all the people in the world. Let the world full of Love.

  • i'm chinese and my family is originally from wenzhou. i cried when i watched this video. thank you for sharing it. God bless you and your family!

  • I like it petty good video i watch the whole thing I like the whole movie

  • what a lovely video! you have such a beautiful daughter, and she's lucky to have you x x x

  • I noticed something.. Me and Sophie both have Kai for our last chinese name. But i don`t know what Peng Ming is.

  • It all depends what the Chinese Characters are. Many characters have the same sound.

  • It`s sad at the begining, but gets more inspiring throughout the video.

  • Ji = Luck

    Hua = Magnificient

    Kai = Victory

  • I'm from Guang Zhou, even though I've been there only 4 times, the buildings and the enviornment seems familiar. It's sad to see the policy in China destroying families that would be considered normal here in the US. Hope you guys have a wonderful life though =) Best wishes.

  • the rule changed for china. you can have up to two children in china now.

  • my husband and i apoted our zulu son on the 10th of jan 2005. he was 2 months old at the time. It was the most amazing thing that we could have ever done. He is a total blessing from God. We are british and live in South Africa and will be adopting our 2nd child in the next couple of months. thankyou for adopting Sophie (she is adorable!) Know that God chose you for her even before she was born and He is going to bless you so much for being obediant to HIm. God Bless.

    Vashti

  • This is a very inspiring story, I just wish that sometimes people would let their children keep their real names.

  • Thank you for your comments. We did keep two of Sophia's three Chinese names. She was born Ji Hua Kai and became Sophia Hua Kai. I love her Chinese names and heritage. We will work hard to teach her about her heritage. It is a joy to learn with her.

  • It's very noble and kind of people to adopt unwanted children and orphans. I hope that you and all the other parents will allow and guide your Sophia and all the other adopted children to grow up at least bilingual (Both the adopted parents' and the child's national/ethnic languages) and to learn about their heritage for them to become well-rounded people who will have the best of both worlds.

  • is beautiful. inspiring and beautiful videos I have ever seen

  • This is one of the most inspiring and beautiful videos I have ever seen. I am an adult adoptee and had to have a hysterectomy at age 29, but the Lord has brought it upon my and my husband's hearts to adopt when we are ready for children. It will be my chance to give back to another child what my parents did for me.

  • OMG I'm so glad Sophie ended up with you guys- u seem to be the most nicest and happiest of familys...I am British born Chinese and I wonder if my parents hadn't have come to the UK and if I would have been put up for adoption then I hope a family would have come to get me just like you guys did for sophie!!! xxxu made me cry happy tears! the guy doin kung fu was hillarious!

  • This is one of the most inspiring and beautiful videos I have ever seen. • Blessed seems to be too SMALL a word. To God be the Glory!

  • Divine! Thank you for sharing your story with the world!

  • That is so sad!Illegal to have more that 1 child? That is so sad!

  • China has one billion people living in limited areas of land that can sustain human life. It's a requirement; and in most rural areas, which account for most of China, the one-child limit is not in effect; one child is not enough to help work a farm! Also, recently, the Chinese government has recognized that there is an increasing gap between the number of boys and the number of girls, and measurements are being taken to give female babies more equal opportunities.

  • this made me feel better about maybe having to adopt a child thank you

  • Thank you so much for sharing your adoption story. Your daughter is just beautiful. The videoclip brought me to tears. Many thanks
