  • The only glitch I see is the main landing gear should have passed the old town car on the right, instead of the left. Still an awesome job, Still impressive.

  • Well, now we know where Nissan got the idea for all their fake ads for their Frontier pickup.

  • Did Nissan just jack your commercial!? Yes.

  • Фигня какая-то...

  • All that work for only 281k hits

  • @DrBongWater well. this video was published in 1996 if i remember correctly...

  • I remember this video was advertised on the local fox news. It is still awesome to this day. This video revolutionized homemade animation that you now see on youtube.

  • I remember when this was released. The amatuer 3D graphics community couldn't stop talking about it. These guys made this on standard computers with software anyone can use. To this day, I am still impressed by 405: The Movie.

  • Dumpert

  • Memories! One of the first videos I watched on the internet.

  • Anyone could do this! I fucked that old women last night and I landed my jumbo cock in your mom.

  • @shawn7981 Congratulations, you sir are a necrophiliac.

  • These guys need to sue Nissan!

  • Interesting how Toyota has borrowed some ideas from this short to put in one of their recent ads. They show a Toyota pickup catching a landing jet's front gear in the bed of the truck on an airport runway. Must be a pretty fast truck to stay ahead of that jet! LOL

  • @n10cities I believe it was a Nissan Frontier.

  • Oh, and Granny going by at the end flipping him off was great. Obviously oblivious to the plane. I still chuckle over that part. again absolutely great.

  • First time I saw this was some years ago. I thought it was the greatest video I'd ever seen. The attention to detail, like the aircraft in the mirrors on the Jeep, were better than anything I'd seen before and frankly equal to anything since. It still looks and more importantly feels great. The feeling of Oh, SHIT!! when they guy see's the plane in his mirror is as good now as it was then. Bravo!!! And the Grand Cherokee nose gear, Priceless.

  • the old woman probably pissed herself after it went over her

  • 2:17-2:20 is hilarious

  • Awesome video! Very well made.

  • OMFG nice :)

  • Gods, and that was done in LightWave 5.6 with no motion tracking in, what, 1999?! We all shat our pants (and so did a lot of big studios) when this was released by two guys in a back room! Still looks good today :o)

  • so funny and he was like oh SHIT when he saw the old lady. very well made.

  • Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • 27 people think this was real and felt stupid after finding that out.

  • brake the car moron! it will pass right over you!

  • @hoth0

    Exactly what I was thinking...

  • Pure stupid awesomeness.

  • car: I will be your front wheel since it is broken

    plane: thanks XD

  • this one the coolest videos on youtube!!!!!!

  • that whole movie was terrible... until the very end. the ending made it worthwhile.

  • this is what the government expects us to believe happened on 911

  • i cant do better, but that doesnt mean i have to like this video. i thought it was shit actually. so thumbs down.

  • This is the perfect reason why the FAA

should require horns on planes. ^_^

  • Stupid People Of America.... Stop being stupid. This is the best funny video of all time!

  • Jesus you guys, obviously it's fake. That's the whole point.

FYI: everything except the interior car shots was made with CGI, by two guys and a $300 budget. That's groundbreaking, especially for something made in 2000.

So stop whining and enjoy the movie.

  • It should say fake Airplane Lands on fake Jeep on fake Freeway.

  • @kevshanken - No need. The category

listed is "comedy" so it is correct.

  • I wonder how was it taken a shoot.

  • for something made in 2000, this is pretty awesome! would like to see how it would look redone today.

  • Why didn't he just pull to the side of the road. This is fake and gay.

  • ohh mann the exact same thing happen 2 me last week

  • Jeep Grand Cherokee LOL !

  • BEST CLIP EVER!

  • Lovely old DC-10

  • Thiss is realyyyyyyyy gay

  • how fake was that!

  • @jackisaskier No - it was real - honest! Fuckstick.

  • i love this moive

  • hahaha

    that granny was so funny

    great stunt

  • FAKE AND GAAAYY

  • @OgrAdaY just like you... lets see you do better

  • @ReventonF22 christ i was kidding, i know its not real. it was a joke.

  • your telling me this is a significant event of 2000 ? 2 guys making this video ? wtf

  • LOL

  • This is just a scene from a movie that I don't think was released.

  • No, this is the film. It was released on the internet like 10 years ago.

  • nice compositing

  • lmao this is great!

Thank you and Resonantforce for awesome share! xo

  • @santamara Anytime santamara!! :o)

    xo

  • Great! 5*

  • sry but that was stupid

  • Cute! great effects except for 1:45 (car still in park).

  • I couldn't help but notice: This video posted to YouTube on MARCH 22, 2006. The date was the 14th anniversary of US Air flight #405 crashing into New York's Flushing Bay, from LaGuardia Airport. Flight #405 mirrors Interstate 405 in Los Angeles

  • Cool! I loved it! It's a clever use of imagination and wit.

  • um wierd i really dont get the point of this movie is it about the old lady sticking up her middle finger or something else wierd.

  • sigh...

  • I like the old lady giving him the finger at the end. She had to drive between the right engine and the jeep to be able to pull off that "fuck you" finger maneuver. That's rage right there.

  • Sorry to be the voice of reason (jackass) around here but, if the dumb ass kid in the Jeep had just stopped his car, he would have avoided the airplane all together.

  • @iaintgonletup yeah, and then get shredded by the blast behind the jet engines.a really GENIUS idea!

  • cool the airplane has an niew front gear

  • the only thing i don't understand is why he would not have slammed on his brakes when he first noticed the plane about to land and let it fly over him rather than try to outrun a DC-10 coming in at 200+ mph?

  • What's even stranger is the fact that the plane doesn't seem to be going much faster than him when it hits so he must have been going about 200mph before it hit =P

  • just another inaccuracy, full load landing speed is 137+ knots which is equivalent to 157.65 mph. So that's the MINIMUM at which that plane can land at FULL flaps. It probably would blowing by at closer to 200+mph.

  • Directorial choice. To create drama and suspense

  • pretty good

  • 2:15, the best part!

  • You can go here to see how the movie was made. For all the DINKs out there who critique the movie like it was something serious... Y'all gotta get a life somewhere. These two had a blast putting this together. I've had a blast watching it over the years. Anyone else got negative comments on it, I just got one thing to say to you... Let's see you do better, eh, even now, after almost ten years.

  • That is SICK ! LOL

  • I saw this like 5 years ago!

And I thought it was a commercial, rofl.

  • ganster ass grandsma

    fuk

  • I remember this from the days before Youtube. What amazes me are some of the inane comments. "He shoulda done this." "He shoulda done that." Or the truly enlightened ones about how "It's phony, that plane would crush him."

My only critique is the same one I had when I first watched it. The old lady giving him the finger. I thought that the film was way too good to be spoiled by that unimaginative and juvenile crap. As for all the acting critics, I guess DeNiro was busy.

  • Amazing work, gives me a laugh from heart.

Guys don't over critic it, if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, who know you won't take the wrong action.

  • why didn't he brake before stupid!!!!!!!

  • Cool movie, nice Special effects!

  • Haha hilarious! but bad acting from the dude! Awesome Special effects

  • ah man old school, but still best

  • WTF was that? xD

  • Dude, I think it supposed to be silly. Don't over critique it.

  • why didn't he just break in the begining?

  • wow, easy to criticize i guess.

  • Bad acting. Hire an actor next time.

  • Its a CGI animation what did you expect -.-

  • Bad acting

  • What a let-down after seeing World builder. Sub-par acting, vfx, and music (what's with the totally unnecessary wheeoo-wheeoo thing?) Mr. Branit, I've just seen two wildly different examples of your production chops.

  • Comment removed

  • This was created almost 10 years ago - world builder was created a month ago. VFX products is way better now than they were 10 years ago.

Besides, the only "real" stuff in this video (not computer animated) is the actor in the car. Sitate from wikipedia: "All of the shots outside of the Jeep are entirely computer generated three dimensional models."

  • terrible acting from the cock.

    granny did good!

  • a little bit unrealistic, but megalols

  • Duuude! I saw that happen!

  • A lot of the scenes weren't that well placed i think, and weren't changed fast enough. Definately think world builder is much better.

  • anybody else notice the two different jeeps lol

  • Haha, good work, although some pretty rough parts of the vid was the horrific change of camera qualite between scenes, and the awful acting. But hey, with this kind of movie, really nice :D

  • i probably would of gotten off the next exit

  • HAHA thats was coo

  • everything about that was great except for the horrific acting

  • wouldve been a good car ad :P

  • that is sooooo fake!

  • no shit, sherlock

  • Lol no way

  • I thought that was the idea, lol.

  • I hope that's a joke.

  • i rekon plane would crush car easy

  • 怎么这么巧有中国人在?~~~哪个网站把这个贴上去了?

  • I remember watching this before YouTube.

  • hahaha old lady hahaha

  • 看到的时候踩刹车时间有的是

  • in chines say: 牛逼

  • the funniest part is probably 1:26 or 1:27

  • I agree.

  • This is a sweet video!

  • haha its funny that they used a DC-10 =]

  • Even by today's standards, this looks pretty good.

  • from now on, i'm only gonna drive Grand Cherokee.

  • I find this HILIARIOUS!! Good laugh.... good job. Good thing is that the gas tank didn't blow up!

  • This was the first ever hyped up internet video

  • did this actually happen or is it fake

  • lol?

  • It actualy happen lol!

  • did anyone else know that stephen speilburg tracked down and hired these guys on the spot? very well done... obviously haha.

  • cool, I checked out their demo roll on vimeo and figured as much

  • LOL its even funnier is that they'd use the DC 10 for this video... one of the most typical accident prone aircraft of its time :P

  • hahaha thats exactly what I thought.

  • i dit not

  • do you think he got pissed after granny gave him the finger?

  • does his insurenes cover that?

  • brake! YOU RETARDED PLANE!

  • This internet short is the best. The last time much of my mother's side of the family was together was for grandfather's wake. We were all pretty upset, but when my comical cousin popped this video on the screen, we all had a good laugh, and felt a little better.

    Thanks, Craig :)

  • so awesome.

i bet they did this in lightwave

  • Lightwave and Fusion.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah these 2 people i know. not the old lady

  • omg May's uncle

  • thanks emma

  • more to the point why was she on the freeway any way? XD

  • why does the granny flip him off

  • lol jeeps slogan"strong enough to hold an md-11)

  • 2:17... The gand ma got a problem lol?

  • I think it is very well done for a short little film. The only shots i dont like, simply from a audience POV, is the shots of granny. The takes are too long. And the very last shot of "the finger" does not have the impact it needed. It is kind of vague and your attention is not drawn to it enough. Needs to be more of a punchline kind of shot. It didn't grab me enough.

  • I met Jeremy hunt around 2 weeks ago at a animation workshop @ Cal State Long Beach. Great guy. He did the work on the movie "300" as well for those that didnt know.

He made 405 with a $150 budget. Pretty cool stuff.

  • If this was real it would be so cool!

  • No roll cage in the world could ever support the weight of a DC-10 (the type of aircraft shown). Great movie though!

  • Soooooo funny!!! Very realistic!! Thanks:)

  • hope hes covered

  • omg FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Of course you can search for all the errors (plane handling, a fixed tree reflected in the front glass of granny car, the front gear with a tube that dont' broke rear car glass...) but with a DV and the budget they've used you could not look at that! Great! Simply great! (BTW if you read the site you'll find the right side of the highway with the cars on the left side, is NOT computer GENERATED, only re-touched with compositing software. The large-field road totally empty is CG)

  • Fantastic!!!

  • lol 1:23

  • 1:12 haha. anyway mirage323 if he pulled off to the shoulder, he would have been sucked up into the engine... a plane landing on a highway would suck up debris from the shoulder as well as from the emergency lane, causing the engine to explode... why do u think at airports there are maintenance crews that drive out on the strip after a plane lands??

  • WOW good job I love amateur films! Although by the looks of it this is way above amateur! Good job!

Still having a hard time believing that it was CG...

  • The pilot should have activated spoilers and reverse thrust mmediately upon landing.

  • i saw it at school- it is completely computer generated!

  • That was sssooooooo funny

  • Yup, 405, the original plane crash.

  • God thats such a great video its my favorite movie, and only 3 minutes long!! lolz.

I just realized this: he could have just gone to the side of the road!

  • This was the first internet wide spread movie... good times, good ol' 2000. :)

  • Isn't this an REM video?

  • Not terminal 5 then....

    Are my bags with you?

  • I wish the 405 was EVER that empty during the day.

  • I know this movie since 5 / 6 years and I still love

    Nice work, very very nice

  • imagine the problems with his car after that imagine the bill to fix it

  • The crash, lack of traffic, etc. was all computer generated. The car wasn't damaged at all for the film; of course, you may have not meant that literally, that can be hard to tell over the internet.

  • Wow, those guys are good...special effects are amazing...

  • salut c tro cool 7 video a + et a les voir sur you tube ma video 50 malaguti a les voir mercy a +

  • Hahaha that is fucking great!

  • These guys are great, now they have their own company. I heard they did all the special effects for battle number 4 of the 300 movie. They still use Lightwave 3D.

  • It is True!!

  • I use Lightwave at work, while everyone else uses 3DS Max. They hate my guts. hehehehe!

  • i can imagine the guy yellin @ the old lady "I JUST HAD A F*CKING DC-10 LAND ON MY CAR AND YOU'RE GIVIN ME THE BIRD?!!"
