The 5 discs are beyond amazing. They have great voices. There are some real innovative accapella groups like the Bobbs, The Persuasions, and recently a group called Straight No Chaser, that has been getting great press, but as Bruno Mars would say, 'THEY GOT NOTHIN ON YOU" Johnny Carbonne! Thanks for putting this up. Great Music, so much passion in their work;)
This is Brooklyn group which was formed in 1958 became immediately popular in the New York, New Jersey and Philly area with this song. The group wrote it and Gene Schwartz of Lauie records released on the Emge Label. It was then sold to RCA and became a Billboard Top 50 hit record reaching the #23 in June of that year. It holds the distinction of being released on 4 Labels, Emge, RCA, Vik, and Rust. Great doo-woop sound from a little know group with good talent!
It was the late, great Gus Gossert who first turned my ears onto this record, and really got me loving this sound called "doo wop". Don K. Reed also played this one a lot on his "Doo Wop Shop" broadcasts on WCBS-FM. Never will stop loving this one!
wow, im only 14 and i used to listen to allot more doowop about this time last year.. this song brings back sooo many memories both good and bad of last year ( : thanks for the post
This group was in a class with The Earls - certainly one of the giants of DooWop. They had the voice, sound, harmony -everything but they just didn't have as many hit songs. Great group
im dat im dat im dat im dat le le le le wah wah wah!!! LOL, this is so great.. I so need to find a copy on Emge, the original much sought after and hard to find label!!
That's what I call a phat ass groove, one day a hip hop group will slow down the backup vocals to about 96 bpm,(seperately and looped) and put a beat on top and make a new record out of this.. (oops) now that I let the cat out of the bag.. lol. GREAT FREAKIN' record!!!!!!!
@CrisVangel Believe it not some latin rap groups from L.A. are doing raps with doo-wop songs in the back round !!!! check out Young Trigger"s songs............., "story untold", "Daddy's lil girls", "girl of my dreams" !!!
Great doo wop!

From my very brief knowledge of this record, it came out in 1958 simultaneously on 3 different record labels. Good Post, Good Record.
