She is so confident on her landings...She is really really amazing on beam, she may not have gracefulness and artistry, but she has hard skills and good execution. I love this routine !

@glenndelossantos15 Yeah, that's the only thing that kind of annoys me about her, on vault she's usually still rotating, but especially on beam it's like she doesn't even try. She's gotten into a bad habit with that and I guess they feal the rest of the routine is so good what's 0.1, but she needs to work on that! I do love her though, her beam set is awesome!!!

I swear to God no matter how many times I see this FANTASTIC routine it makes me go "WOW" every single time. Absolutely bloody brilliant. BUT she does land the standing full very deep, and she always always always takes that one little step on her extremely difficult dismount, but im being pedantic. This is absolutely amazing; under the biggest pressure in sport, this girl was able to turn in a performance with which the judges could find very little fault. What a gutsy girl!

Shawn is so powerful and so fast. She has such high difficulty and impeccable technique. The landings out of her combinations are perfect and she has great execution. She deserved the beam gold, and the all-around silver, but maybe 2012 is her year for all-around gold... :)

It's all bullshit, if you pause in the first split and the second, just at the right time, she gives them both, everything is a lie and a pretext used by the judges to deduct points to Shawn's routine!

Sorry guys, I have nothing against Chinese girls, but come on, they were so over-scored, almost ridiculous! At one point, is so obvious, anyone could say that the judges were trying to help them win the gold, so annoying! Each of the gymnasts made some of the worst mistakes in the balance beam, not to mention the fall of Chen Fei, and even so, had higher grades, 15. 5 and more, what a rip off!

I would have loved to see the U.S. get gold like they did in Atlanta, but the Chinese women deserved their win here. The Americans were plagued with injury and a slight disadvantage in difficulty compared to the Chinese. However, I think if the entire team were healthy and everyone hit, they could have made up for the deficit. They need to amp up their uneven bars if they want to win in London. I'm sure they will by then.

Shawn Johnson really is the best gymnast in the world. I can not understand how it hits the whole presentation. There are no words to say how it is perfect. She deserved to have won the individual all-around gold in Beijing.

@greyskies34  Shawn has so much more difficulty, the thing was Jackie Fei head of the gymnastics organization demanded that shawn's beam score be lowered, and vault, and raise nastia's beam vault and bar scores, so if everyone was scored fairly like planed shawn would of won

With the code they used in Beijing, they were more focused on packing in lots of flips to increase her "B Score" with is referringto difficulty.

So basically, the more flips, the higher her score.

The commentator was wrong. Like sqekcx said, the '2nd back layout' is actually a back pike. This gives her a C+C+C connection - which I believe is a .1 CV bonus combination.

0.1 CV for connecting the switch leap to the LOSO and another 0.1 CV for linking the LOSO to the back pike. The C+C+C connection is 0.2 CV but all three C's have to be acro elements... she took advantage of two different connection formulas, giving her a total of 0.2 CV on that series... one mixed connection then one acro connection.
