  • DUDE...nice

  • Also you have some amazing gear man, that stuff cost alot of money.

  • Would you recommend this Miami? What would you say if you compare it to the Jomox xbase888?

  • yeea nice

  • 1:02

Did anyone notice theres no cowbell?

  • sounds cool but not for $1400.

  • some really good music congrats.. dreamy....

by the way i want to ask you something about roland sys100m and MMM DIY so can you msg me your email or smthing? thanks....

  • is it possible to sync this to 606 ?

  • Are all these sounds coming from the Miami?

  • @Lemure333 only the drums

  • Great vid!

I like HQ demos. Lovely feeling to this one.

  • Keep it up guys. Great stuff.

  • Killer track man. Love hearing great music let alone great gear

  • Great track! Well done.

  • I know it has a MIDI in, can it be sequenced with a computer to include in a set program with other instruments? In song mode?

  • that's analog - actually PLAYING a keyboard? where's there computer? haha. nice.

  • It sounds close, but not exactly like the real deal.but for someone who cant get a real 808 i say go for it. Im glad i have the real thing.

  • I like ist! 5*

  • your music is amazing. can you please release this song for our personal listening? i wanna dance to this!!!

  • @qone1200 Thank you ..please search 'Red Martian' on itunes for my band's recordings. We also have vinyl on ebay right now. Search for 'Red Martian vinyl' and 'Red Martian acetate'. Thank you for the support.

  • i own both the TR-808 and acidlab miami. i can confirm that it is a very very good reproduction (probably the best ever made) with a very clean design. the main differences are (to me): the miami is slighty less crisp on the claps (sharper attack on 808?) and a tiny bit more softness on the snare (you can hear it on this video too). for a pair of untrained ears, it is however nearly impossible to hear the difference. the bass is miami's strong point: definitely better than 808!

  • I want this machine. I'd love to have a TR-808, but this one sounds just as nice. Thank you Redmartian for this bit of Synth-porn! :-)

  • You know what? I though to myself, holy shit, that sounds NOTHING like a TR-808... But then I realized one thing. I'm SOO used to shitty digital samples of the 808, that I COMPLETELY forget sometimes the TRUE sound of an 808. This one sounds pretty close to a TRUE 808. Two things that bother me though... The Claps sound off, and I've heard the Rimshots before in other videos. Just... not authentic. Everything else is good, though.

  • So it says your triggering the arpeggio played by the Jupiter-4 with the Miami.. does this mean you can use the Miami as a midi sequencer to other equipment? I think it'd be great to hook it up to my Voyager.

Also, is this pretty much a straight clone to the 808 or is there any more functionality in terms of sounds? I'm looking at the Miami and the Bassline 2, but I have'nt seen any demos or anything of how you can alter sounds with the Miami, ie pitch, cutoff, etc.

  • Hi,

I have a Jomox xbase999. I love the sound but I hate the overly-complicated user interface. This looks like a nice clean, simple interface compared with the 999. Is that the case or is it a buggy ball-ache like the Jomox?

    Cheers...Dunc

  • It is very simple to use.. much like the TR-808.

  • i wonder how close this is to the original 808

  • Its a TR-808 like drum machine. Its quite similar, but its hard to say its exactly like a TR-808 without getting people angry. I'd say it sounds good and is a great analogue drum machine that is easy to use.

  • @redmartian

i even find it to sounds better

  • I LIKE! :-)

  • wow,nice machine man.

And really dope track as well ;)

  • what is better, a jomox or this?

  • PLEASE tell me the snappiness was just turned down on the snare drum...that is really important. I want an 808 but I have NO money for a real one...a clone would be nice though.

  • The miami costs more or less as much as a real TR-808.

  • @redmartian

    Not now mate.

    808 £1500 (approx Ebay)

    Miami £700 (brand new)

  • Oh, and whoever did not give this five stars is green.

  • Brilliant! Have one of these on the way.

  • fuckin sick mate!

  • Holy crocodilians batman - savage setup mate!

  • excellent demo, thanks for showing us.

  • Dammit, now I want one and already have an 808. Great, great sound dude!!!

  • Beautiful jam...

    Cheers,

    RRKS

  • really nice demo track, thumbs up

  • can you do a video of your very rare p5..

    where did you get it?

  • Check out "Cowboy and the SVC-350 Vocoder". I used the rev 1 on that. But I will make a video of just the rev 1 at some point.

  • It is not similar - it is the 808 sound !

  • the miami sound is nice but not similar to the 808

    nice demo!

  • I've had my TR-808 for 20+ years. I can't say the Miami sounds just like the 808, but its a damn good drum machine with extra features that the 808 would need to be modified to have. I would take the Miami over any 808 sample library.

  • nice to see more miami videos, thanks :)
