I purchased this game on steam this morning. And I could see the intro logos perfectly, but when it got to the first loading screen, the bar would jump a little bit, then just show the desktop without any error messages. I'm running it on windows xp, and I've tried changing the compadability mode to windows 2000, but it does nothing. And when I try to install the 1.2 patch, it says something and doesn't work. Please help.
@guitarg0d7007 I think the game downloads with patch already installed. The stating a game right after restating your PC. If that doesn't work then try finding am older version of DirectX 9. What video card do you have BTW?
@Rashaed I have a Mobile Intel 965 express chipset family driver. Geez what a mouthful. It seems to be able to run things like GTA:VC, Counter Strike: Source, Halo CE, Sims 2, and Postal 2. And how do i do this thing with the DirectX 9? And will doing that affect other things i have on the computer?
The reason why you will always have to deal with people throwing IW sucks comments is because it simply disappointed the majority of fans of DX1. And there is nothing wrong with that, even Harvey Smith and Warren Spector themselves said that DX:IW didnt even remotely live up to what they intended to do with it. If a developer says so, why cant the fans? DX:IW is a decent game, but thats about it for most people.
@Yeyinde Yeah, that happens to games alot, make expectations large, game is pretty cool but doesn't meet expectations, is all of a sudden the worst game in the world
i agree, i really liked this game, as much as the original no matter what others say, i really liked this song, but i also liked the plot and debates about philosophy present as much as in the last game, and the new factions such as the Omar
I really, really enjoyed Invisible War, actually, and like you, Rashaed, I get REALLY tired of people saying that the game doesn't even hold a candle to the original. I know, it's THEIR opinion, and they're entitled to it -- but that doesn't make it any less annoying.
Hi everyone. As you probably know DX3 is in development. The community too is growing and we would really like it to continue.
You can join the official forum and our Facebook group. The latter is composed of already 220 members including The Montréal's team, Warren Spector and Harvey Smith. It is regularly updated. For instance, today you can read about a fan's visit to the studio.
Thank you for your attention and long the DX community lives!!!
Thanks for the comment and all but can we leave out the "Deus Ex is better than Deus Ex: IW rant?" I get enough of that crap on my other Deus Ex vids.

If only this game was able to run on Windows 7 x64. Still a really great game tho.

Doesn't compare to the first, and only a decent game at best, but you have to admit the soundtrack is amazing. Especially the intro tune.

i will say this game at least equaled the first (or at least almost equaled) in atmosphere, like with this track and the return to cairo one =D

i dont understand why people are hating this game... Sure it isn't even close to Deus Ex 1, but it is still a great game :)

Indeed. The level design was pretty awesome, I thought.

This song is perhaps the only one thing on DE:IW which can stand up the first Deus Ex quality level.
