Diagnostic. Theres a shortage of Diagnostic radiographers, so students tend to go that way as there are more job opportunities. Thats why I did anyway. Theres a bigger range of areas to specialize in aswell which made it more apealing to me.
@veralau93 No, you choose to do a course in diagnostic radiography or a course in radiotherapy. Both are three year courses and some uni's may let you switch course at the end of your first year. In diagnostic, once you graduate and get some experience in general x-rays, you may chose to specialize in an area such as MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT, Dexa scanning, or do a postgrad course in sonography (ultrasound) which what I plan on doing =)
Carlos if you have a desire for it go and ask to meet the program director and spend some time volunteering in transporting patients. If you like it the rest will follow.
I dont know about the United States. But if its anythinglike the UK then you'll find that theres physics involved in your studies towards degree level. But like a lot of things. The work is easy enough to pick up.
well, onimach said you have to like anatomy and mat/physics, and thats TRUE, but i will add that a esssential part of a radiograf job is to talk and calm people. so you also have to like to take care of patients and to nurse around them...
well im good in understanding science but i can say i suck at math.. but i love this field really looks interesting for me.. i guess some math?.. i can probably be ok what you think?
They should be very responsible to ensure patient trust.
