These karts are truly fast! I used Gran Turismo 5's simulator (known to be reliable within a few seconds a lap time to the true life time) with a 22hp kt100 powered kart. It ran 1:05 at Tsukuba circuit in Japan (a stock STi will do about 1:04 stock) and I was fuckin amazed at that. The karts dont have to brake at all in corners that sports cars do, they keep up so much speed. I could only imagine what this 50hp monster would do around that track, I think sub-minute laps!

I run a shifter kart here in the U.S. its a Swiss Hutless toleto with a Honda CR 125 on it how does that XR50 compare. the engine dyno said I was putting out about 42 HP but I think thats a bit high.

Cool motors. Super fast, powerful, and simple. But these motors are unhealthy for the sport of karting because only a handful of drivers can afford to own one and pay for the tires these motors burn up.
If only a handful of drivers buy them, how is that unhealthy for the sport of karting and what business is that of others anyway?
And that's rubbish about the tires. That depends on the compound chosen. The chosen compound here is a fairly hard one, same as the KZ shifter karts use. Tire wear therefore is the same as on those and probably below the average among more popular kart classes.

No need for special fuel either...will run very well on standard 91 octane pump gas. This thing puts out 45 horsepower at 8750 rpm and has 294cc displacement.

The wankel cannot be turned into a success . An efficient rotary engine was posted by Philistia Industrial Group and anyone who views it can see the difference . It is no doubt the engine of the future . It is here on Youtube . MAZDA's engineers should have a good look at it , maybe they will want to have it replace the Wankel in the RX8 .

This Aixro is a proper kart racing engine; the best. Car engines belong in cars like truck engines belong in trucks. But sure, enjoy building your car with a truck engine. Just dont expect it to turn corners at speed.
A Formula E SuperKart was recorded at 0-60 in 1.9 seconds. People do put bike 1000cc engines on karts but they never look right, and don't turn corners too well. Mental, but not quick

mazda considers the rotary a single stroke engine due to the fact that while one "stroke" is taking place every othr cycle is still taking place at the same time.

Normal KF1 karts will clock abover 70 at PFI... the wankel was clocked at nearly 100mph there by missing out last section of thr track... this engine is truly rapid.
He said "Comer". A "Comer" is a very small 50 or 60cc 2-stroke engine used as a spec engine in kid classes. Usually for 5 to 8-year olds. They are almost identical in size and come from the factory painted red. A very nice little engine for kid go-kart racing.

What is the best engine for ultimate performance without being too big/heavy and ruining the dynamics of a cart with a typical engine?

mazda considers the rotary a single stroke engine due to the fact that while one "stroke" is taking place every othr cycle is still taking place at the same time.

Normal KF1 karts will clock abover 70 at PFI... the wankel was clocked at nearly 100mph there by missing out last section of thr track... this engine is truly rapid.

are you joking ?? hell a simple Yamaha KT100 engine kart can go 70. With 50hp, you're talking 120mph+. These things only weigh like 100lbs you know.

He said "Comer". A "Comer" is a very small 50 or 60cc 2-stroke engine used as a spec engine in kid classes. Usually for 5 to 8-year olds. They are almost identical in size and come from the factory painted red. A very nice little engine for kid go-kart racing.

the rotary engine is an engineering marvel! its the same sort of engine in the rx8 its an awsome bit of maths who ever scaled it down needs knighting!!! i tip my cap to the man!!
