hello im having a problem with my wii i am not exactly sure if it is an over heating problem when ever i am playing a game i can play for a few hours but then it will say the disk is unreadable but if i wait till the next day i can again play for a bit untillm the disk becomes unreadable again

Any intercooler that actually draws power from the Wii itself can damage your system even more. Worse yet, if NOA figures out you've been using one (Some early models would sometimes leave distinctive scorch marks on the case) , they consider your warranty to be voided because you "modded" you Wii.
That's a risk I'm not personally willing to take, although I'll admit that I know some people who use Intercoolers and think they're the best thing since toast.
I'd recommend backing up your saves to an SD card. As I recall, and honestly this was a couple years ago, I had to re-download my Virtual Console games when I got my Wii back. (I didn't have to pay for them a second time, I just had to download them again.)
Nintendo said that they cant repair my full bricked wii they wont give me a new one for free but i dont want a new because all my saves friends and other stuff is gone then....is there a way to get the saves from a broken wii on a SD card or something else???

WiiConnect 24 just makes your Wii sit around and constantly ping out to the internet for system updates and messages when it's in Standby mode. You can play in WiFi even if WiiConnect 24 is disconnected.

Actually, it overheated because the fan doesn't activate when the Wii is "sleeping" and searching for updates off the internet. If I played it all the time,the fan would have run more and it wouldn't have overheated. It's kind of ironic, isn't it?
They need to make systems as cool as the game cube and N64 was. I used to sleep with that system on, wake up the next morning and play it sometimes. But those were my grade school days. One time I left it on when I was at school and I didn't know it. It worked just fine when I got back home. I turned it off though because I went outside.
That's what happened with mine, but it's my understanding that that the overheating issue is more along the lines of a manufacturing error associated with a relatively few units rather than an endemic hardware flaw. That is to say, it probably shouldn't be a problem unless you got really lucky and got a magical lame Wii like mine.

Tiny black spots popping up during gameplay sounds a lot like the problem that I had. I didn't lose any data at all when I sent my Wii in, but to be fair I didn't have any non-transferable saves on my Wii at the the time. If I were you I'd just ask the customer service rep about it when I called Nintendo. I would suspect that they have some way of moving your saves from one Wii to another.
Um, I would think that as long as the air intakes aren't blocked by the cloth there wouldn't really be a problem, but I have to admit that I really don't know. Wiis are white anyway, so they don't attract dust nearly the same way that a black system like a PS2 or PS3 does. (Seriously- My PS2 is in a much more sheltered place than my Wii, but it always has far more dust collected on it)

I don't about Twilight Princess, but SSBB saves can't be copied at all, even just to back them up on to SD cards. (Mario Kart Wii and the Rayman games are the same way.)
When i was play Guitar Hero 3 for 2:20 min i check the temp of my wii and it seemed like i been playing for 5 hours. I can only speak to my experience - legend has it that some early Wiis had a defect (possibly a solder bridge) that caused the Graphical Processor to overheat because of heat from another part if Wii Connect 24 was left on while the Wii (and the fan inside) was shut off. Leaving my connection on while the Wii was off would leave my Wii -hot- to the touch. I would contact Nintendo ASAP.
Customers should have no obligation to buy extra hardware because of a Nintendo manufacturing flaw, IMO.

I have my wii connect 24 on all the time. I play on my wii loads but a day after i had played on my wii for 6 hours and then 5 hours my wii froze for the first time. Is this because it overheated. This happened to me and l called tech support and the woman actually told me not to believe what l see on other websites, just because someone else (besides nintendo) says lt doesn't make lt true. after all that she sent me a mailing label via e-mail to be printed out. Pretty easy process, though lt was by fedex. Fedex even gives you a number so you can track lt online to see where lt ls as lt travels. Didn't get any options just had to send lt in. Plus they add a year to the warranty.
If only, man. The artifacting is apparently caused by actual physical damage to the inside of the Wii. As far as I know the only way to fix it is to send it off for repairs.

I have a softmodded wii and I have this problem, and my warranty has ran out so to me this video is useless.
Also if you have this problem you should go on free running the game, the hole screen is practically flooded with little black pixels its horrible.

That's what happened with mine, but it's my understanding that that the overheating issue is more along the lines of a manufacturing error associated with a relatively few units rather than an endemic hardware flaw. That is to say, it probably shouldn't be a problem unless you got really lucky and got a magical lame Wii like mine.

yea i think u should i have had 1 for over a year and have had no problems just keep it in a well ventilated place and if it still overheats just buy a wii fan stand from gamestop. I have 1 just because it keeps my wii cool and it have an awesome blue light shining under it.

Tiny black spots popping up during gameplay sounds a lot like the problem that I had. I didn't lose any data at all when I sent my Wii in, but to be fair I didn't have any non-transferable saves on my Wii at the the time. If I were you I'd just ask the customer service rep about it when I called Nintendo. I would suspect that they have some way of moving your saves from one Wii to another.

Um, I would think that as long as the air intakes aren't blocked by the cloth there wouldn't really be a problem, but I have to admit that I really don't know. Wiis are white anyway, so they don't attract dust nearly the same way that a black system like a PS2 or PS3 does. (Seriously- My PS2 is in a much more sheltered place than my Wii, but it always has far more dust collected on it)

I don't about Twilight Princess, but SSBB saves can't be copied at all, even just to back them up on to SD cards. (Mario Kart Wii and the Rayman games are the same way.)

Hi i'm having a problem with my wii.
When i was play Guitar Hero 3 for 2:20 min i check the temp of my wii and it seemed like i been playing for 5 hours. Now when i play my wii for 1 hour the temp is really hot above normal, it's still working, i think it's the built in cooling fan that is busted, sould i buy an Nyko Intercooler and call Nintendo?Anyone with the same problem and fix it can you help me cause i'm scared that my wii will eventually overheat and break

I can only speak to my experience - legend has it that some early Wiis had a defect (possibly a solder bridge) that caused the Graphical Processor to overheat because of heat from another part if Wii Connect 24 was left on while the Wii (and the fan inside) was shut off. Leaving my connection on while the Wii was off would leave my Wii -hot- to the touch. I would contact Nintendo ASAP.
Customers should have no obligation to buy extra hardware because of a Nintendo manufacturing flaw, IMO.

I called Nintendo and since it din't shut down automaticly when i was playing, they said don't put the console on carpet (since mine is on carpet). But sould i still buy a cooler for the wii? Like just in case. Thanks for your help.

I have my wii connect 24 on all the time. I play on my wii loads but a day after i had played on my wii for 6 hours and then 5 hours my wii froze for the first time. Is this because it overheated. Anyway i bought 1 of those wii docking station fans which helps keep it cool. I just wanted to know if this has happend to any1 else.

This happened to me and l called tech support and the woman actually told me not to believe what l see on other websites, just because someone else (besides nintendo) says lt doesn't make lt true. after all that she sent me a mailing label via e-mail to be printed out. Pretty easy process, though lt was by fedex. Fedex even gives you a number so you can track lt online to see where lt ls as lt travels. Didn't get any options just had to send lt in. Plus they add a year to the warranty.

If only, man. The artifacting is apparently caused by actual physical damage to the inside of the Wii. As far as I know the only way to fix it is to send it off for repairs.
