GREAT Review Man! You really nailed the message of the film. The part where you speak on "the precious-es you see day in and day out" is so real. You real made me have a retrospective moment and now I'm going to listen to some Keep ya head up by Pac
was god fair when forming gabbies looks in her mothers womb?..was gabby an exception?..why would god intentionally make her look like a gorilla?...she's proof god cannot exist
It was a great movie. I cried my eyes out. The issues dealt with in the movie are everyday issues for alot of women. They are the secrets kept amongst family members, the whispers at the reunion. There are so many Precious girls out there black, white, and otherwise. Its so sad, I went to school with a girl that had Precious issues, she was found beaten to death off a dirt road my junior year of high school. I glad this movie was made. Everyone should see it.
You know what I was sayin to myself. I know certain people who need to see it in particular. But I'm glad I saw it myself more than anything. It's so easy to point fingers, you know what I mean?
Yes, sadly, abuse is very common. In the black community, it has been kept hidden for years, but it is important for us to speak about it...without shame. Also, there are men who are also dealing with the same issues that Precious dealt with. Great vid, Kevin.
A variety of reasons Bro...Overpriced tickets & snacks, talking people, babies crying, cell phones blaring, nasty sticky floors & chairs, folks kicking the back of your chair, walking in front of you, and so much more. I have surround sound at home and can buy the DVD for much less than the cost of going to the movies.
Wow, that was very unsocial of you. lol But yeah we all put up the that side of it the experience. But you still get to share that experience with your fellow human beings. It's things like that that let you know you alive!
Thanks Kevin. I guess it;s all about personal preference. There's a time & a place to socialize, and movie theaters doesn't fit the bill for me. I'll let you know I'm alive Bruh...LOL

I felt the same way when I saw Precious....The movie was so relevant and a reminder that these situations exist. Good non-spoiler review!

It's also a reminder of how these situations occur all around us too.
