This unit is actually an ultrasonic humidifier, not a cool mist. There is a difference. Also, I would suggest that you maybe you display how to open it and clean it.

DO NOT buy the VICKS filter free # V4450. I'm still recovering from the toxic white powder that it released from the water. I came close to being admitted in the hospital from a bacterial infection. I was never so scared in my life. The product is garbage. Use filtered machine ONLY!!!!!

@TBA4Freedom yes mine it does that too.. every time i used it i used a screw driver to scraped that white thing that sticks in the base.. Its hard to scrape it thought.. Ohh thanks for leting me know. Its been a while ive been using this humidifier.
