Mr. Shatner was never the reason why the Star Trek film franchise kept bombing at the box office. If anything he help prolong Star Trek's life, because everybody wanted to see Captain Kirk on the big screen. I think it was the lackluster 'next gen' movies combined with DS9, Voyager and Enterprise which really sucked the well dry. And we'll thank Rick Berman for that.

Actually First Contact did quite well. Voyager met with mixed reviews but still ran seven years. Berman did indeed lose enthusiasm for Trek, as was evident in Insurrection and Nemesis. Creatively they were both washed out. Enterprise started strong but suffered from a weak cast (Hoshi). That Xindi arc in the third season had a few good shows (North Star), but was pretty stale. Season 4 was really good I thought,(Reeves-Stevens Trek novelists written) but unfortunately that was the end.

I have always loved technology and at 34 I have to say it was a crazy to be the eldest and the only female in the classes at college. BTW, we worked together (without getting to meet, as is often the case in the world of cartoon voiceovers) on "Futurama".
