The first time I heard Melissa Etheridge's "Bring Me Some Water", I was driving. My first thought was that she was Tina Turner. That song "struck" me so hard, I had to pull over, it was so powerful and so meaningful to me. I really like all her music, but this song is extraordinarily wonderful! So primitive, passionate, an emotional BOMB!
I need some insanity of the temporary kind out of control sweet devil yes yes I love this song and sweet devil has my heart and mind ... never my soul... thats mine. and and and I will always survive....I will always know how to survive... First vthing is to not to depend on anyone... If you are your own....well you own your self. no excuses be what ever you want to be other than a loser

@ElunedDdedwydd Definitely agree with the similarities with Tina Turner. Both very powerful and rockin' performers. One thing that immediately impressed me with Melissa when she first came on the scene was the fact that she knew how to incorporate that great effect of an electric 12-string in her music. Only a few other performers, such a Jimmy Page have really exploited the deep resonate tones from this instrument.
This is one of those rare songs that once you hear it you realize what talent really is and how rare it comes around. Thanks Melissa......Alan..Nashville
I remember the first time I heard this over lunch in 1988. I looked at my friend and said who the "F " is this? I bought the CD on the way home from class and listen to it from start to finish 3 times that evening. Nice photo montage.
seeing Melissa reminded me her story about breast cancer and is the perfect excuse to wish a friend... that everything goes well tomorrow in their breast examinations, everything gonna be fine...you'll see! take care...
