  • cool story bro

  • Forerunners fought against humans who had found a cure for the flood. However, Forerunners won and turned us into cavemen, yet never got their hands on the cure.

  • The Forerunner are against the precursors, the precursors created the flood in a war against the Forerunners, in a last stand, after the forerunners took the precursors previous knowledge, and used it against the precursors, there in only one precursor left i think, and you will be fighting forerunners in Halo 4. Good luck

  • cool so at that end thats what the really look of grunts and elites without combat armor

  • Forerunners remind me of Tron, all the lights and stuff. Oh what if we can have a stick then run and jump into a jet or mongoose, now that would be epic. :D

  • what song is playing in the background? please respond

  • The humans are the forerunners. Go Humanity!

  • What is that music please?? reply

  • @ForerunnerX1 "You were there" from ICO videogame

  • Can people stop referring to them as precursors? They are Grave-minds, Or flood. Don't believe me? read Primordium. And for everyone's information, Humans never developed a cure! the flood have the choice to Infect or not. The flood's purpose is to test a species as the inheritor of the mantle. Which forerunners weren't, Humans are the rightful holder of the mantle.

  • The Precummers created the flood never heard of them they came before the forerunners and were smarter but the forerunners slaughtered them and then the flood slaughtered the forerunners

  • Nice vid dude

  • this game is a legend.

  • Comment removed

  • Somehow this music seems to fit...

  • TACKTICUL MUTE INCOMING !!!!! MMMKAY ?

  • Well actually the precursors created the forerunners and humans, they were at level 0 on the technology scale while the forerunners were at 1 which is one level below 0. Read up on your halopedia halo fans.

  • @russiansauceboss Halopedia contradicts a lot of facts found in Cryptum and Primordium

  • i think the forerunners are actually like humans and that's why the forerunner structures react to human touch and not covenant

  • @1awesometeddy They actually were made to react to the inheritor of the mantle, which rightfully was the humans, they also react to 'reclaimer' touch.

  • Sadly they didn't add the prescupators in the movie, right ?

  • This is why Halo is the best game ever,

  • 3:33

see, humans, elites and grunts aren't that different, they all started the same:

naked and wondering how the hell they got here.

  • so i think i understood, forerunners destroyed all they have to finish flood, and this way the other species culd live?, interesting, i like idea and vid :A

  • fuck! we gotta fight the flood in Halo 4

  • As if I wasn't confused by the Windows startup sound at the very start. lol

  • I keep seing trailers about halo 4 and i thought forerunners in halo were bad now i know theyr not thanks

  • @Ecuacuba100 Actually the Didact has a short temper which started the Precursor and Humans wars.

  • this is just the start of halo legends lol..

  • The Forerunners have been fighting a losing battle with the Flood for over 300 years now. The Librarian ( A Forerunner) wanted to activate the Halo Array in order to stop the Flood from devouring the whole galaxy. But Didact (a commander in the Forerunner military) was against the idea as he believed that activation of the Halo Array would mean a mass genocide on a galactic scale. When Mendicant Bias became rampant and joined the Flood, Didact knew he had no choice but to fire the Array.

  • @CitizenLog1 The Librarian indexed every known species she could find and sent them to the Ark to safeguard them and ensure their future existence when the Halo Array was fired. And as you know by now, the Ark is actually on Earth, situated beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. The Librarian viewed Mount Kilimanjaro as "a beautiful thing, a snowcapped sentinel". Didact activated the Array, killing the Forerunners and all that would have been food for the Flood.

Librarian spent her last days on Earth.

  • @CitizenLog1 The librarian is alive, this is explained in primordium

  • @CitizenLog1 In the year 2552 that is..

  • @CitizenLog1 reading about the didact was the best part about cryptum

  • @CitizenLog1

You mean Master Builder, not the Librarian.

  • @CitizenLog1 It was the master builder who wanted to fire the arrays, not the librarian

  • the story of Halo runs so deep into the things we have in real life. Like has anybody watch ancient aliens on the history channel, how they show how humans were created by aliens (Forerunners) and all the religious gods throughout civilizations came from sightings of aliens. They just recently discovered in Turkey proving religion came before farming and that explains so much.

  • @Jacoby515 Ok as much as I like the plot elements, and maybe we were seeded by aliens, the way the history channel depicts it just doesnt work its just a total conspiracy theory!

  • can u not put gay music and explain ur self dumbass.

  • Whoa this explains a lot... Whats a Forerunner?

  • is it me or does the front of that ship thingy look like bin laden smiling at 1:06 ?

  • @delta1118427 its like bird head or somthing

  • @delta1118427 it DOES!!!

  • Only things that still confuses me is in the book it says the forunners are huge 2-4meters ect. and im guessing San'Shyumm = Covenant

  • @chipmunk832 Sangheili is covenant elite, San 'Shyumm is "prophet"

  • what song?

  • They might be comming back in Halo 4

  • all i could understand was the flood had attacked or something then a halo ring destroyed the flood am i correct?

  • I don't get it, if the Forerunners destroyed themselves and every other living creature along with the Flood by activating the Halo rings, why is that the Flood appears in the Halo 1 -3 series? More or so, my main question is, HOW did they come back!?

  • @xXxZeffaxXx The Forerunners left them to be studied, They wanted to find a cure for the Flood so the Monitors studied them in Containment facilities.. Although they shouldn't have done so lol..

  • @gamerdude1246 Oh okay. Thanks a lot. I was wondering how the hell they came back after I watched this. It really didn't say they studied and held them in containment facilities in the movie.

  • @xXxZeffaxXx the forerunners kept samples on each ring. In halo 2, they ecaped delta halo on a covenant ship

  • @xXxZeffaxXx Yeah I don't understand it too...

  • @xXxZeffaxXx Not all the flood were killed. Some were captured and put into containment for study (on the halos, some shield worlds and installations like the gas mine)

The flood in halo 1 were released from containment by the covenant on installation 04.

In halo 2, installation 05, they had been loose for thousands of years. They a=re also dotted on random planets. There are also more outside the galaxy.

  • right now*

  • @Xecuttuioner fuck you im reading that book right you just fucking ruined it for me

  • >the forrunners

[file subject to AI cortana memory banks]

    >file start

a race of humanoid beings with extremely fragile skeletal structure, they rely on technology to survive and have colonized several worlds in the milky way for use as shield facilities, they have been extinct for several billion years, due to an unknown fate>[this section of the file has been classified by ONI sect. 3]

    >file corrupt<

  • @xhunterforest wait I thought the forerunners made humans. That's why forerunner tech recognizes humans and is usable by humans. And when the leaders of the covenant found out they were mad and lied to the covenant that they were enemies or something? (Sorry I forgot a bunch of this stuff.)

  • Great that told me absolutely fuck all

  • Is halo Ledgends considered cannon?

  • @sgthardtack It's the origins of the Halo story.

  • @sgthardtack All episodes, albeit Odd One Out, present canonical stories. However, the way they are told is heavily subject to artistic licence, so not all the details are correct.

  • if you know about the forerunners you ain't gettin laid

  • ICO MUSIC FTW

  • Yeah and the Precursors created the Forerunners. They were smart enough to accelerate intelligent life. But after that turned and destroyed there creators. As amazing the Forerunners are they expect Humanity to take there place.

  • 3:45 JESUS JESUS!!!!

  • i guess at 2:53 in the middle is the Didact?

  • halo lacking something in the legends that was lacking when FORERRUNERS were created by a rasa (do not remember his name) and that rasa was destroyed by the FORERRUNERS to rule the planets of that rasa and a given time till they were conquered planets saw the planet earth to be ruled by the planet more abundant life but when it came to rule Hibbaan floods came they had to cancel all their plans

remove this information from Wikipedia and there is even more information about halo

  • My clan is called Team Forerunner.

  • What's up with the grunts, elites, and that one human at the end?

  • @xmattx343 the forrunners made us ( humans ) the sanghelli ( elites ) and the unggoy ( grunts )

  • @ImLunarTheDragon what are you talking about, forerunners didnt create anthing..they vowed to keep all of the species of the galaxy safe so they recorded dna from every sntient being be4 they fired the halo arrays...they didnt create anything

  • @POLINDOCAN they created the huragok go to halopedia

  • @dday1999FTW yes they did, but they didnt make the humans , elites and grunts.... (huragok are biological super computers so half computer , half living thing)

  • @ImLunarTheDragon No you're wrong, the forerunners nor even the Precursors made us.

  • @xmattx343 The forerunners took DNA samples and live specimens to repopulate the galaxy

  • Since the Forerunners got rid of the advanced human soceity, they had to fire the Halo rings as it was one of the only choices that worked. They then chose humans to reclaim their tech after the re seeding the galaxy therefore giving us the name "reclaimers." Also, humans on Earth were basically the "Precursors" or the decendants of thmne

  • @galaxies101 Precursors were the ones who made the Forerunners. The Forerunners killed all but one Precursor somehow.

  • Since the Forerunners got rid of the advanced human soceity, they had to fire the Halo rings as it was one of the only choices that worked. They then chose humans to reclaim their tech after the re seeding the galaxy therefore giving us the name "reclaimers." Also, humans on Earth were basically the "Precursors".

  • No, guys here's the truth: Humans and the Prophet speices were allies a couple thousands years before the construction of the Halo rings. They encountered the Flood and managed to drive them out of the galaxy mostly b/c of the humans. However, a war between the Humans and the Forerunners later destroyed any way of defeating the Flood since the humans were basically sent back to the Stone Age. So then a couple thousands years later the Forerunners basically forget the war they had with humanity.

  • The Forerunners were the ones that you saw in the video, they basically destroyed themselves in order to save Humanity. Humans are Reclaimers, which is why the Covenant was killing us, they knew we were chosen and they weren't. So in order to prevent the Covenant from falling apart, the Prophets ordered Humanity's extinction.

Also, the Precursors came before the Forerunners. So to narrow it down it goes:

    Precursor>Forerunner>Reclaimers (Humanity.)

  • Halo is not about John or the covenant war.

It's about Mendicant Bias' betrayal, his atonement and the acts of Born stellar.

And the Iris that is deep within the Halo lore.

  • they killed every living thing in the universe in an attempt to get rid of one terrible species that has been spreading. only to clone everything afterwards and begin again.

  • So they killed everything, and cloned everything?

  • The forerunners thought us humans are special. So they thought they'd give us exclusive access to their machinery.

  • Not saying this is bad but its getting a smidge hard to find a H.L eppisode that isnt recorded on some kids monitor, cut up and embedded with music, or in another language...

  • @MisterLEM0NS yap, you're right ... but i don't think youtube was the right source to search for the Legends series ...

  • @MisterLEM0NS p.s.: i'm not a kid, mate

  • @Saftbaer93 Never said you were, merely stated that about 500k others are recorded on a dell with the parants screaming that its diner time in the backround.

  • you should have made a video about the precursors and ancient humanity. it would be hard to get pictures of that tho :/

  • lol before i saw this vid, i always thought that the forerunners were those sentinels and monitors....

  • Thumbs up if you came here looking for an actual documentary.

  • @courperationX it is one. from the "Halo Legends" anime saga.

  • @wawa865 I meant the video itself.

  • 3:44 jesus :)

  • 1:23 , The Maginot Sphere? Possibility , Since its a line just like it was told to be..

  • Read halo cryptum, they're not humans. Because of the humans previous technological expertise (before they were devolved by forerunners after the forerunner/human war) the forerunners thought they were best to be second in command to take care of the Mantle, thus the best choice to take over in case the flood wiped them out, but this decision was that of the librarian's, not the forerunner population, as they were strictly making sure humans would not regain their previous strength.

  • @A2theDS the humans were not completely devolve in halopedia their were a few survivors of the war that escaped out of furerunner baunderis

  • @A2theDS hey i just got that book its pretty good :)

  • why do you think only humans can activate forrunner technology and not any other race? because humans are the result of the forunner and the halo effect of the forunner

  • This is good, the music makes it sad what happened to the Forerunners.

  • terrible song for Halo

  • poor bastards didnt have a chance.

  • the ones of 3:36 what are they?

  • @LarvitarDiego Grunts, or also called "Unggoy"

  • @ZOOLESTER uhh no elites without armor san shyuum

  • @ACCFJeremiah did u mean 3:36 ? There are Grunts, not San Shyuum (called Prophets, not Elites)

  • @ZOOLESTER grunts are cute they not

  • @LarvitarDiego They are actually armorless grunts

  • If Mendicat Bias ( 0:43 ) Didn't help the Flood the Forerunners may stood a chance but Mendicat Bias was a powerfull AI capable of controlling Fleets at once , It was still nice the Forerunners sacrified them selvs for other races :)

  • Nice vid but it dosent tell much of the story , heres a quick resume : A long time ago even before the Forerunners , the Precursors existed , When the Forerunners were born they made a whole wide empire that took control of the Galaxy , The Precursors technologies were more advanced then the Forerunners but the forerunners outnmberd them and won the war, Before all the precursors died , they left a gift that was capable of destroying all life forms in the galaxy even the forerunners: The Flood

  • 1:40 they look stupid without legs

  • Guys, read Halo:Cryptum

  • <dude the forerunners were humans with special siuts, that's why in halo 3 the Oracle

    calls you reclaimer and forerunner

  • @tonekai how much human does a creature need to be called "human" ? better to call the humans forerunners, than the forerunners humans ... so ... the San Shyuum were forerunners, too - but no humans.

  • @ZOOLESTER so by whaat your saying we might as well call them homo sapiens

  • @ZOOLESTER I think what he's trying to say is that the Humans are the closest living biengs to the forerunners (as in similar genes) and thats why only forerunners and Humans can activate halo arrays and no other race that we know of from the game...

  • @ZOOLESTER the forerunners were a whole nother specis they were more advanced then humans and when the flood came the saved embrios form all the specis they could and used the halos to try and kill the flood but it didnt not work, in comparison humans 5 ft 6in on average the forerunners were about 15ft the, only reason humans ccan use the forerunner tech is bacause they were cosen to be the reclamers

  • @ZOOLESTER actually the forerunner were a different race from either of them. genetically humans were to forerunners as monkeys are to humans. which is why humans are able to use and control forerunner artifacts but not other alien races

  • @Zenos127 You're half right. The reason humanity can use Forerunner artefacts is because humanity are Reclaimers, the Forerunners passed the Mantle down to humanity, we were chosen to reclaim their lost empire.

  • @ZOOLESTER isn't there another anchient and smarter race then forerunners i think there called precursors or something i can't remember.

  • @TheETOTHEZ precursors were the ones who formed the forerunners, but they travel trough galaxys, so they are not to be seen anymore or something like that

  • @ZOOLESTER i think were u going is not human, but humanoid, the forerunners were humanoid, not human.

  • @tonekai lolno

Forerunners and humans evolved seperately, the humans went to war with the Forerunners and we were blasted back into the Stone Age. Go read Cryptum, the Forerunners were created by the Precursors to inherit their Mantle when they left the galaxy.

  • @ajw34307 nice, but if humans and forerruners were enemies, how come the humans are the reclaimerS?

  • @tonekai The Forerunner only started to become wiser when the Flood began tearing down their empire, they realised what they did to the humans was wrong and (looking back on the potential Ancient Humans had) saw their former enemies as special, the worthy inheritors of the Mantle.

  • @ajw34307 i know my fair share of halo story but, when you said "what they did to the humans was wrong" what did they do??

  • @AlphaX500 it is revelaed in the novel, Halo:Cryptum (SPOILERS AHEAD) That 10,000 years before the

firing of the rings, the ancient humans had actually been a powerful space-faring empire that was smaller but equal in power to the forerunners, the forerunners fought a war with them.

  • @AlphaX500 if you want to know more, just go look check out halopedian

  • @AlphaX500 They exploited a loophole in the Mantle which basically allowed them to justify removing any race that might contest their power, after Ancient Humanity was weakened by their war with the Flood the Forerunners attacked them, humanity lost and was devolved back into the Stone Age.

  • @ajw34307 This might help explain the humans role in that: youtube.com/watch?v=hdgh8ijszfs

  • @tonekai In halo Cryptum the Humans are fairly looked down upon by Forerunners. Forerunners also have a difficult time fitting armor on humans since humans have a different skin texture. They are rather mushy compared to the Forerunners scaly skin.

  • @tonekai In halo reach the artifact you fought for was said to be neither man or covenant and it was made by forerunners. their not human.

  • @priris

oj ok I know they aren't human but why does spark tell you in halo 3 that your forerruner??

  • @tonekai I dont recall that. But if you really want to know what a forrunner looks like imagine a walking heritic that has aribiter like armor on. That is almost how they are descrbed in the books

  • @tonekai where would i be able to find this

  • @tonekai They were GIGANTIC humans. lol

  • @tonekai no they were alians. they chose the humans to be reclaimers. they trusted them before...well you know.

  • @tonekai if the book on the forerunners is counted, humans were not forerunners. the forerunners believed that the humans could have been a evolution or something of them one time but the forerunners always degrading the gen. of the other lower species. the librarian class of forerunner did the degrading, though i think that the forerunners would regret it in the new book of the series sense few of the forerunners know the truth. though i'm not going to say sense it's a spoiler to the book.

  • @tonekai humans were not forerunners. The forerruners had actually adopted the human race as their predecessors therefore rendering all access to their technology to the humans. Perhaps it was because the human race showed bravery or whatever the forerruners liked about them.

In fact before the forerunner-flood war, humanity was on an equal technological level as the forerunners and even invented a cure for the flood

source of information: Halo Cryptum (novel about forerunners before the war)

  • @HODgamerfan

    no.

  • What song is this please?

  • @GUNDAM0ARCHE "You were there"

  • @ZOOLESTER 'You Were There' is sung by who? It's a pretty good music choice. ^^

  • @ZOOLESTER this song is from ICO isnt it (CRYING)

  • @ZOOLESTER But by who? if you could give us the artist and the name of the band/group who sings this I would appreciate it.

  • @ZOOLESTER who sing this song ?

  • Wheres the original video of this with your music in it -__-. I want the one where cortana narrates what happens.

  • just got halo cryptum cant wait to read it :)

  • Wow amazingly interesting. I need to watch the Halo Legends

  • OK but if the forerunners were so smart why didn't they clone them selves or go on the ships like the other species the created

  • @MrrRandomdude dunno, maybe they were afraid of the possibility one of those forerunner-guys could be infected and renew the parasite.

  • @ZOOLESTER oh

  • @ZOOLESTER not bad, you could be right.

  • @ZOOLESTER yea that still didnt deafeat the flood

  • @MrrRandomdude They did go, then they repopulated the galaxy and fled to a different galaxy

  • this may be a stupidthing to ask but were the forrunners human by any chance if not dont shout at me i never heard of the books/comics/shows what ever i ownly played the games

  • @NATHANBARLOWXD I think you won´t get a safe answer for this. But ... i´ve read about that the humans (today´s) and the San Shyuum (the holy prophets) had the same ancestors. So, the Forerunners were no humans, but they were the guys who cloned themself and made a race, today called "humans" (and another, called "San Shyuum")

  • @NATHANBARLOWXD well...humanity started on earth and they were still in an age before the stone age when the rings were fired, 2 humans like all the other spieces were put in criotubes and the tubes were programed to go to the certain planet and release the spieces contained in the tube, hence when the forrunners destroyed themselves to save the galaxy the galaxy was not lifeless

  • 1 person was the first forerunner to die from halo.......

  • where did the forerunners go?

  • @TheRebornHalo3 yeah there missing

  • @TheRebornHalo3 I know that after that, left the galaxy.....

  • @TheRebornHalo3 sorry leaved the galaxy XD

  • so what .........

the forunners created humans, elites and other aliens

  • @joealtair3000 no, they just saved em before they killed all life in universe ...

  • @ZOOLESTER no i mean they created the humans elites and other aliens by cloning their dna
