@tiddlywinks98712 Just in case you still care about an answer, usually you can get NEW reels of 1/2" tape for around $80 each. There are 2 brands that make tape nowadays, RMGI and ATR. If you go on ebay or on other sites you can get New Old Stock tapes for much less depending on the tape. What you want to stay away from is late 70s-80s Ampex stuff especially 456 and 406 because they often develop sticky shed syndrome which makes the tape useless. Hope this helps.
