  • Crazy Guy~

  • did that guy really die ? when how?

  • he was shot, poisoned, and finally drowned. when they examined his body, he had scraped the ice to try to get out of the frozen river he had been thrown under to and there was water in his lungs meaning that he died of drowning instead of the bullets or the poison.

  • Seeing all this happened in WWI, he would've died by now had they not murdered him...

  • Run Run Risque Team . Run After Russian Team.

  • ... outstanding.. just... outstanding :D

  • why is Rasputin the bad guy in the Disney movie Anastasia? I thought he would be considered good if he healed Anastasia's brother and gave advice to Alix.

  • Rasutin made a decree that if he died at the hands of a Romanov the family would lose power. He was killed by nobles, among them the cousin of the Tsar. Two months after his death the February revolution took place and the Royal family was put under house arrest. During a civil war shortly after, the entire family was slaughtered. Their grave was split. Alexandra, Nicholas, Olga, Tatiana and another body were in one grave. There was a dispute if this body belonged to Anastasia or Maria.

  • It was rumored that Anastasia had survived, though I'm not sure why she was instead of Maria. The movie goes along with the idea that Anastasia survived. Rasputin is the villan because he can not die until his curse is finished.

This plot was ruined recently when another grave was found holding Alexei and Maria.

In history they didn't like him because they believed he was controling the Tsar. Some thought he was sleeping with the 'queen'. So they assinated him.

    Ignore my spelling errors.

  • he was an evil guy but Anastasia is going over the top a bit too much

  • There is alot of black people in russia?? I thought it was in north contry lol..

  • All the members were from the Caribbean, you racist pig.

  • i prefer turisas cover :P

  • i dont know...why exactly....i think is the beat....but i love this song....xD

  • Russia's greatest love machine for sure.

  • look-M.A.D.R.A.S.-voodoorave

it's a trance remix of this song

  • He ruled the Russian land and never mind the Czar. But the Cossack-chuk he dance really wunderbar. In all affairs of state he was the man to please. But he was real great when he had a girl to squeez. For the Queen he was no wheeler-dealer though she heard the things he'd done. She believed he was a holy healer who would heal her son. "This man's just gotta go" declared his enemies, but the ladies begged, "Don't you try to do it, please!" No doubt this Rasputin had lots of hidden charms...

  • I first heard this song on 8-track back in 1978. My uncle Leonard put the "stereo" on the window so we could listen to Boney M. while we cleaned the front yard. In grade 9 we learned about Russian Revolution I and Gregory I. Rasputin's role in the demise of the very rotten Imperial Czarist system only to be replaced by an even more corrupt communist system. It's quite the story. They couldn't kill Rasputin. They poisoned him and shot him. He just wouldn't die immediately. Oh those Russians!

  • nice song =) LOVE IT

  • I am from Afghanistan and had OUR FIGHT with RUSSIA, but they are our friends nad our closest allie.. trust me.. We perfer RUSSIA than USA.. Long liv RUSSIA

  • This is certainly true today, as it probably is with a great many countries, but was it true twenty years or so ago when they invaded you?

  • disco is frolic, makes all feel good, some day it will come back.

  • I love this! It's hilarious; we listenedto this song in history class.

  • @missmarauder2 same lol :)

  • @missmarauder2 Sweet! I wish I had your teacher... Ours made us read books, lol.... :P

  • those people in the crowd dont seem very amused for some reason lol

  • Well if it's Russia...Russian people are widely known not to be famous for their cheerful nature...Well, at least most of them.I'm gloomy most of the time for example.

  • Well, the guy with the moustache did bob his head to the tune in the end. This was many years ago and English wasn't widely spoken then. Russians are great fun! Love them!

  • I spent two months in Russia last year, not speaking a work of Russian. Best two months of my life, the people are so friendly and welcoming. Get a few drinks into you and them and everyone begins to speak the same language

  • mother russia will become a superpower once again and destroy america, the so called saviours of the world hahahahahaha

  • Oh, I can guarantee that...

  • De lo mejor de los 70.s...Boney M era un grupo adelantado a su época.

  • haha black people makin fun of russia.thats rich...hahahahahahaha

  • Best comment ever seen on Youtube, Good job x)

  • yes i know thank you

  • haha! nice one!

  • I don't think so much that they were making fun a Russian, as trying to put a history story into a song, most of the song was pretty close to the truth.

  • Good song, though I think the cover from this song by Turisas is better.

  • not for me

  • Their cover is good, but nothing beats the original. Ever.

  • These guys are pretty good, but for me, nothing beats Dchjingis Khans "Moskau"

  • the girls do most of the singing...

  • love Boney M!

  • XD Wohahahaa....hah..ha..

  • Amazing to think the scene in Shaun Of The Dead where they beat up the barman with pool cues was originally scored to this rather than Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now'.

  • I know. When I heard them say that in the commentary I nearly had a heart attack. That would have been SO awesome. I wish they would (or somebody would) make a music video doing just that.

  • I'd pay good money to see that promo.

  • dance dance dance in DISCO

  • Lol, we played this in our History class when we were studying the Russian revolution and the murder of the Romanovs. Annoyingly catchy :)

  • We did that aswell! :D

  • unfortunately we didn't, we just sing it at the teacher instead!

  • brawo BONEY M-1978 CRACOW TO POLAND

  • I wonder how long the band spent in Moscow.

They certainly were big shoulder pad days!

One oczywiście byli wielkie dni drogi (podkładka) ramienia !

This song was number one in Australia at the time, too.

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • ( ゜∀゜)

  • the best :) nejnej

  • i was studying history and when my history teacher switched on this song, i got addicted, lol, "ra ra rasputin , lover of the russia queen~"

  • A history teacher? For me, it was a university professor! :)

  • Just curious- where are you all from? Unfortunately, they weren't big in the US : (

  • I'm from NY. My professor, however, is from Mauritius.

  • I'm from the US and this is the first I heard of him. Of course, I'm not old enough to remember the 60s. My dad never heard of them, and he lived through the 60s *shrug*

  • How the hell could you not have heard of Rasputin!?!?

    Uneducated Americans

  • I agree with you.. I was born in Brazil and we used to listen in the radio.. Now I live in Italy and even NOW it sounds in the radio here, once a week I can tell. :)

  • well considering rasputin lived in the late 1800s early 1900s....

  • muy bueno ahora que ya lo he traducido al castellano y me parece buena forma de contar una historia de la vida real

  • Very bestキタ─wwヘ√レvv~(゜∀゜)─wwヘ√レvv~─ !!

  • Mitici, mitici, mitici,mitici, mitici!!!! :)

  • Every time I listen to this song I want to dance!

  • (((´・ω・`)beriy good( ´_ゝ`)´_ゝ`)´_ゝ`)

  • I wasn't REEEEELY reading into or anything......

    But thanks, that was- informative....

  • Turisas' cover was better!

  • I love the little dance that Bobby does in "Moscow Square" or wherever he was supposed to be... with the fur thing on his neck... sooo funny!

  • Very best...............

  • I Love Boney M !!!

  • boney m is the disco!!! e+w+f also but fouks..this song really is a good old disco! rasputin is a casanova from russia!!!

  • This video makes me giggle.

  • I thought this song was hilarious. Historical disco, I guess? I always thought Rasputin was an interesting person to begin with, but this is just to much. I love the line where they say, "and so they shot him 'til he was dead" and then they say, "Oh, those Russians".

  • Look into the musical heritage of of the singers of the group, in the Caribbean it was common for Calypso singers to parody world leaders in songs(like Hitler & Mussolini in the 40's)however British officals in the region would also be made fun of in songs if they were not popular with ordinary ppl and sometimes the British would ban the songs. There were also songs full of praise of Churchill(war time) or even Kennedy during the Cuban Missile crisis.

  • Always on the TOP!!!!

  • I think this was the only western team that was allowed to perform in th erstwhile Soviet Union during the Communist era

  • what's rasputin stand for??

  • He's a person. o.o;;

  • catchy

  • this song is great- very funky

  • Good number

  • i like it

  • 1979 back in Germany (west) we all were going crazy for this song. Danced all night long.

  • i dont get it when it says

"there was a cat that was really gone"

    lol

  • The cat, the dude, the man, had views that were not normally adopted by the mainstream.

Heard this the first time in La Havre France in 1979.

  • His moves are fantastic.......and the song of course

  • Rasputin is such a badass. The Dustbowl was actually caused by him blinking.

  • no not exactly, but the russian empire fell in 1917 because of his 30cm dick...well, indirectly but yeah it still fell

  • it's embarrasing but i love this song...

  • Nothing embarrasing about it! I mean, I first heard them when I was in Dublin visiting some friends and it was really great! When I rediscovered the copy of the tape I made it just so happened that at the same time a radio station linked to the higher quality video of this. I just felt I had to share the love. *Grin*

  • right to goooall...pls beckie make respect room...for jj...milly

  • not a good coppy, the sound on its pretty lame cos it was recorded on a mobile.

  • This one? This wasn't done on a mobile? Unless you mean the other version.

  • j'adore trop !

  • Was this video filmed by URSS Epoque?? I dare to say they had political mood with this..

  • This has to be one of the best Pop songs of the 70's
