Unless of course that girl is your girlfriend and you're unsure as to whether or not you want to break up with her because you are unsure if you still love her. Because that's what this song is about. It's a sad song about falling out of love, not falling in love.

Great job on the lyrics. I believe at the end it's 'through the din of your breathing', not dim. Din is "a loud continued noise; especially : a welter of discordant sounds." Other than that, everything seemed perfect.

@scorpion123751 He's really progressed. I've always loved TATE since I found them, but early on the 'critics' were harsh on his voice. It was rough, harsh and edgey... which made him a bit like Bob Dillon in that his voice wasn't great but unique and he had such passion with it. He's really worked to clear the voice up as far as critics are concerned, without losing his own uniqueness.

I also feel that edge to his voice was perfect for songs like Innocence, the extended version.

Yeah this song is the shit. What I really like is that their songs are deep without having to be so damned abstract. A lot of similar bands write their songs so that they dont really make sense and need to be interpreted. The Airborne Toxic Event writes songs that arent always straight forward, but they have meaning and/or tell a story. Good shit.

@kwauhop TATE is known to change up lyrics slightly from time to time. Usually the small by words that don't change the meaning, and usually when going from Acoustic to Plugged, like with Gasoline. He changes the chorus up ever so slightly in those versions, I guess because the timing with Acoustic and Plugged is different so it helps him hit his delivery. Would confuse the hell out of me, keeping up with which is which, or maybe he just does it naturally.

Yet, you fight to remain in the relationship despite all of the obvious signs that it is no longer working.
