@sombreroboom okay run the installer in windows xp compatibility mode, as an admin. Set it as that. Just experiment with compatability mode and you will reach success. Thats what I did anyway lol.

If you play through the game (or go to the latest year you can go up to in Sandbox mode), you'll unlock the 'advanced movie maker' building. From there you can create your own movies.

It's been a long time since I did that myself, but I believe that there is an upload button on the production menu; the menu where you add subtitles, voice-overs, etc. You need to convert the movie into a video file, and then you can upload that file onto youtube. It's been two years since I have done this, so my advice may not be correct. I was able to put my movies onto a DVD.

Its been a long time since I played the game but I think you do the following:

1. Run the movie in the game's Movie Player

2. Click Export, switch to High, and then wait for the audio to update.

3. The .wav file should be on your hard disk somewhere. Search for it if its not on the desktop.

It keeps saying encountered fatal error while installing and won't go beyond that point. It will install up to that point then freeze up for 1o minutes then it will say that message.
