Well he was and Kami was the drummer, Gackt and Kami were very close Friends, and On June 21, 1999 a subarachnoid hemorrhage killed Kami in his sleep, this was just maybe a few months after Gackt had launched his solo career, and he did not find out about Kamis passing until a week after Kamis death. and if you look up "Emu ~for my dear~ its a song that Gackt sang for Kami, its really sad and in the 1999 live gackt is seen crying.
